"Phamous Phil" also known as Philip Schmidt Jr, was born and raised in Lower Providence and attended Visitation and Methaction High School. He decided to pursue his passion of bringing southern style barbecue to the northeast after spending time in Tennessee and falling in love with the food and preparation. He became a member of the Kansas City BBQ Society and began judging for the annual competition. In addition to his homemade Phamous Phil's Inphamous Sauce that offers the perfect addition without an overpowering taste, he emphasizes his slow-cooked meats, smoked with a variety of fruit wood and red oak flavor. Known for his pork barbeque and brisket sandwiches, he also offers ribs, smoked chicken salad and full menu of other mouth-watering options. Phamous Phil's Barbeque and Grille's southern style menu would not be complete without a variety of homemade drinks to match, including homemade lemonade and iced tea with a homemade sweetener. Phil's experience as a judge for the barbeque cooks-offs has provided him with a passion and desire to make great food with high quality meats barbecued to perfection.
