My first visit yesterday was aaaaawsoooome! From the time we walked in to the time we left my sister and I felt welcomed. I went in for a dye (the first dye in my life) and a trim for my damaged ends. Shina was my stylist and just a doll to be around. She educated me and my sister, whom simply accompanied me, on everything she was doing to my hair and the maintenance we could do for ourselves at home to have healthy hair. She listened to me about what I wanted and mixed colors that matched a photo I brought. She has 11 years in this profession and It certainly shows. Shina made me feel comfortable knowing that I was nervous to begin with. She also made delicious herbal tea for me and coffee for my sister =^_^= I'm happy I didn't rely on the stars of this page because a lot of times with ratings it is usually the people who dislike something that rate compared to those of us that do like it, which is sad but true. Shina was a delight to talk to and watch as she worked her magic. I have thick hair, tight corkscrew-type curls, and a tender head, but her combing through it didn't hurt a bit (unlike some other salons). Also, I am a dark brunette yet she didn't have to bleach it for the red & violet colors to show in dim lighting, which is what many people told me I had to do. Annnddd this stylist trimmed only 1 inch off while fixing a mistake I had made 4 months ago when trying to "trim" myself. Ralph, the man in charge, made an appearance and remembered me from a previus short introduction and seemed genuinely happy to see me that he checked in on me a couple of times. Lastly, I must thank Stacy from their Clinton Township location, whom I originally reeaally wanted to style my hair, for reassuring me that Shina is a boss...and she did not disappoint.
Cupid Nails has earned my everlasting loyalty... Due to the economy, I have not been able to visit a salon as often as I used to, but there is no other salon that has helped me as much as 'Sam' (Samantha? - Owner) has. I suffer from very dry and cracked soles and ingrown toenails that can be extremely painful. In all the years I have had a pedicure, no one has come even close to offering the relief that she has given me. Yes, her English is a little broken - but she cares so much about the the quality of the job performed. I have witnessed whole bridal parties singing her and her crews' praise. I have never written a review before. I am a little stunned that there are some that felt they had a bad experience. I have always walked away smiling.
Alicia is a sweetheart! Best I've felt all year. I'll be back and bring friends next time also. Always an enjoyable visit. Thank you so much! =)
