Dr. Sweep

Had a few calls with Dr. Sweep, got someone out a few days later to inspect the work that I needed done and gave a very reasonable estimate. About a week later, a cleaning crew came out and completed the job at the rate I was told I would be paying and not a penny more. loved the work they did and will hire their services again when I need them in the future.

Absolute waste of time. I finally gave up after waiting TWO MONTHS for a quote - including two home visits, a dozen emails, and having to contact the owner to complain once. I've never had a worse experience trying to work with a contractor. Their front office is a mess. They sent me the wrong estimator (doesn't do wood burning stoves) the first time (one day of work missed, waiting on a four hour window that they blew). The second time they sent the right estimator, who was still an hour late, only after I called because as he said "they must have forgotten to put you on my list this morning". He then told me it was a "really simple job", then failed to send the quote "within two days, for sure", and I can't get them to respond to me a month later. I literally couldn't give them my money, and now it's the busy season. I run a quote-based business and have a ton of professional empathy, but this is beyond egregious.

called several months ahead to proactively set appointment during a special price offering for a cleaning and also said I might need a chimney cap and wanted to see about this also, told them the kind of fireplace insert I had, make model etc -- price was supposed to be 109 for inspectiion and cleaning. when the time came, technician arrived and said he didn't have the tools to do the job, recommended rescheduling with someone else. I called the next day and was told that because I had an insert a different tech needed to do this, it will be an additional $40 for this service, not the original advertised $109.



Rescheduled, new tech comes out very nice guy as was the other tech, but goes up, looks in chimney and says that he doesn't have the right size brush, so he can't clean it, doesn't have chimney caps with him -- is going to charge a service call for the "inspection", and I'll need to reschedule AGAIN. Theyll call me first thing in the morning -- he suggests I should get a cap and cap plate -- it will cost another $300 for this --- and the "inspection' costs 79.95.



No call the next morning -- call them and at this point have talked with other chimney services including my installer who say that its a pretty standard sized stovepipe and they can't imagine why he wouldn't be able to do a cleaning or have the right size brushes along. Another tells me that this company is notorious for finding ways to jack up the price from their offers. So I call back to say that I'm dismayed at having started over 2 months ago, have had 2 techs out, no work has been accomplished, and they were supposed to call me to reschedule -- gave them $ and a small deposit, but am wondering at the situation.



Owner calls back to say we will "part ways" -- sending my money back. -- what a waste of time. In my field I take time to educate people about what is needed and why. And at this point I would have at least apologized for the inconvenience, and now having to scurry to get services as everyone is heavily booked at this point. Thank you Dr. Sweep.

I had Dr. Sweep out recently for a cleaning of the chimney and inspection. And the tech was very knowledgeable, and explained the procedures too me with a lot of experience. We will definitely be coming back to this company!

I had Dr. Sweep out recently. And let me just say how professional and thorough John White the owner is. He made my wife and I very comfortable. We had an estimate for tuck pointing and chimney repairs. The estimate given was very easy to understand. And John made sure we had a good crew out here to make us have a fast repair, and efficient. Bill did the tuck pointing and the mason crew did the repairs...All very friendly and timing was perfect! Definitely returning to this company, and will make sure to refer all of our family, friends and neighbors.

My chimney was leaking into my bedroom. John at Dr. Sweep got on the roof and did a water test. THEY FOUND THE LKEAK. I have spent over $1000.00 trying to fix this with other companies. They came out last week to do the work. It rained today. For the first time no leak. Thank you for you hard work.

EXCELLENT WORK AND GREAT PRICES TOO! I never would have thought a chimney cleaning would be so neat and clean. After all the years of being scared to let these sorts of companies in my home in fear of ash on my furniture and carpet. Would recommend to anyone like me looking for a professional clean company

They showed up on time everyday they were scheduled, even going as far as calling ahead to give me a heads up when they were close. The owner John was nice and did all he could to only recommend things that were needed (and not just money grabbing) as I told him I was in a big bind for money.



The work looked great, & at an affordable price too! They could've easily taken advantage of someone like me, not being very knowledgeable with chimneys, but instead they proved very trustworthy and I will definitely be calling again in the future.

Not a good experience -- short/rude on the phone. Appointment to get gas fireplace had to be scheduled 2 weeks out. They finally show-up and charge $85 for nothing, and tell us they can replace the motor, but it will be more than $600. So a month later, blower still does not work and spent $85 for nothing.

My realtor recommended i use Dr. Sweep because she said she has used them in the past. I had to get my chimney cleaned and it ended up needing a deglazing. The young man that came out seemed thoral. He kept his work area clean and he seemed to care about really doing a good job. I was happy with the work and I will use Dr. Sweep again.

I was happy with Dr. Sweeps prompt and professional service. They called me when they were on the way to my house to do the estimate. After the work was completed I received a follow up call which I felt was very professional. I would recommend Dr. Sweep to my friends and family
