I understand that Flix hasn't had their grand opening nor have they opened up their full menu, but with this in mind, I went by about an hour and a half early to check everything out..
After speaking with the staff and being shown the limited menu they would have available this evening, we decided to go ahead and purchase the tickets. We were really hungry, but had planned to wait the hour and a half to enjoy dinner with our movie. We purchased our tickets in advance, on the spot.
An hour later we arrived back at the theater and took our seats. It was at this time we were told that the kitchen was closed and we could choose between chips and salsa or popcorn. I was baffled because we had just had a 10+ minute discussion in regards to the 9;50 showing and the menu. At this point I was irritated, but not 1 star irritated.
We decided to get a refund and go get some dinner. When the "manager" finally arrived to give us a refund, he was more annoyed with us than apologetic. As a matter of fact, he never apologized. Once he handed me my refund tickets I attempted to speak to him and he ignored my question twice and walked away.
I'll take the time to drive to Alamo as I've done so often over the years. Sorry Alamo Draft House for forsaking you in the name of convenience.
Good idea Flix, but poorly executed. With any luck we'll have a really nice dollar theater next to my house in a couple of months.
