This is for the entire store. I find Fred Myer better over all, but Safeway comes in second. Fred Myer has lower prices and a better selection. But Safeway excels in the produce department where every store in every state is superior. Their snack are by the deli is also better than Fred's. One problem: How about an electric bug zapper to eliminate some files that are sometimes there annoying eaters. BTW, I have shopped Safeway in Rihyad, Taif, Jeddah, Khamis Mushat, and Dhaharan Saudi Arabia. Could you add cheese, non alcoholic wine and bread selections like they have in those stores? Man, those selections were awesome. I mean two long isles for each. I never knew there were so many cheeses, breads and non alcholic wines. And to anyone other than an alcholic, non alcholic wines are superior to the ones with. The big brand was Rausch from Germany. There must have been 100 of those alone. I used to convert 5 gallons or so to alcholic monthly though to keep my employees happy. If they had more than 2 glasses they had to take the next day off without pay because the Saudis noticed the smell and didn't like it. And I sometimes brewed some where 1 glass would make your world spin. Watch out for the drinking fountain in Saudi. I once saw an American Nurse there arrested for taking a sip of water during Ramadan before sunset. How will that look on her next employment if asked if ever arrested? LOL ROFL
Best store in Roseburg, especially the clerks, cashiers and stockers. But what is needed is a better eating area near the deli. The cold from the open freezers is a bit too much for comfort and raises the noise level as well. Some booths would be better than tables. With that, I probably would get something from the deli every time I shopped. Great beer selection too, best i town. If I were the manager I would eliminate all the low cost lager swill and let those people get that at some minimart. Stock nothing but imports, craft and minibrewery beers. Ive been wanting to try the Russian Imperial Ale by Widmer Brothers. These good beers should be available by the case as well. When I find a good one, I like to buy by volume and keep stocked up for friends or a BBQ. Not much of a wine fan. I think you carry too much of that. I would eliminate anything not selling. Too many wines taste like prunes or are too sweet. If not blackberry wine about the only there I will drink is Chanati or maybe a burgundy. Both the final two are cheap Gallo usually. And one glass is enough for me even with dinner as the more wine I drink, the less I like it.
Wonderful customer service - employees very helpful.
