I have always felt uncomfortable in high dollar spas. I am a practical person and with the economy in crisis, I do not have extra cash to blow on frivolities. I hate nothing more then a pushy stylist forcing expensive hair spays and shampoo that I can not afford. I was referred to Chell through a co-worker and she ensured me that this place was down-to-earth, so I gave it a go. And I am very glad I did. Chell was my stylist and she gave me one of the best haircuts I have had in ten years. She washed my hair (free of charge), cut me some long layers, then blew it dry. I only paid $15. Instead of trying to up sale conditioner that I could not afford, she gave me some samples. Never have I visited ANY salon that did not tell me that my gray is evident and of course they suggest that I have them to color it with some expensive service. Chell did not point out my grays or flaws, nor did she suggest any additional services, instead she thanked me for my business. I will use Chell again and I recommend her salon to other blue collar workers wanting the expensive look without the expensive price.
Wow what an experience I had from the moment I walked into the salon until I walked out. I was promptly greeted and offered refreshments while I waited in the beautiful salon. Once I met my stylist they seemed genuinely interested in what looks had worked well for me in the past and what had not. They then make some recommendations on a look that would be great on me. While being shampooed, I thought for a moment I was having a massage. It was a wonderful, relaxing few minutes that just took my mind off of everything else. The stylist then created a cut and color that was just right for me and made me look and feel years younger. I reserved my next appointment and have told everyone how great this salon is. A+++++ on everything.
I have tried countless salons searching for someone to give me a stacked v cut and EVERY stylist claimed they could give me what I wanted and 20 minutes later and $30 shorter, I was left with anything but the cut I requested. Frustrated, I try Chell's because it is near my house. It is a small, simple salon, nothing fancy, no free cappuccino. I showed her the photo and like the others she said she could give me what I wanted. At first I was reluctant because she parted my hair in sections with clips. I assumed this was something only girls did right out of beauty school, in the end, I received my cut! Picture perfect! I was extremely pleased.
