This post is in response to the post made by Manon Emery. We regret the fact that they were unable to become tenants and the inconvenience they have suffered. We do acknowledge that the problems that lead to them losing their apartment was not their individual fault. It was not the fault of Morning Side however, and posting negative reviews to hurt our business is unfair. Unfortunately, what Adam and Manon apparently did not recognize and still do not recognize is that they were in the unique situation where another person (a company, ALE Solutions) was going to be responsible for their rent and other charges. Their lease thus was conditioned on the agreement with that payment company being finalized. The Company insisted on not cosigning or guaranteeing the lease as most do in such situations, but rather they insisted on being only a pure “payor” under a separate agreement. We told them the conditions and terms on which we could do that. THEY THEN DID NOT GET BACK TO US FOR OVER TEN DAYS and all of the paperwork to finalize the contract was NEVER RECEIVED and we could not risk the apartment being vacant, given the waiting list for our units. We had no choice but to rent to the next tenant on the list. When ALE finally did get back to us (after we had leased to another tenant), they still did not agree to the terms we had discussed, but wanted to further argue and negotiate. We were out of time, and simply could not do that. We wish Adam and Manon the best, but any anger should be directed at their paying company, not Morning Side. No staff or management made any threats regarding posting reviews.
I travel a lot and this has been by far the best place I have found to stay. The furnished apartments are furnished with high quality furnishings and the staff as well as General Manager are very caring and polite! The grounds as well as the apartments are very clean. I would highly recommend this place to anyone as a home or a home away from home.
