You can't go wrong here if you love beef...even the seafood is a treat! Beware not to fill up on the salad bar (included w/entree)...enough variety here so skip the appetizers. Service is always attentive, even on a busy Sat. night. You won't be disappointed after waiting for a table, so bring your friends for a fun & loud evening.

We always have a good meal at Chucks. The atmosphere is great for family dining or for a more romantic occassion. Staff is helpful and abundant. The steak is cooked to perfection and the price is right!

My family has been dining at Chuck's for over 20 years now and I can honestly say we have never had a bad experience. They have excellent high quality food, superb staff and the restaurant is very cozy and original. The Rocky hill location has been there for 40 years which is a very long time by restaurant standards. I have a lot of friends who are also regulars of chucks and we all tend to agree that if you want high quality steaks, great salad bar, and friendly waitstaff nothing compares to chucks.

The last time we dined at Chuck's, George Washington was seated at an adjoining table. Our motivation for dining this evening was an expiring discounted gift certificate. As we pulled into the parking lot, I was surprised at how packed it was. The restaurant is relatively small and we ended up being seated too close to the very small salad bar. I had noted on the menu that there were entirely too many seafood entrees listed as being ""fresh"" suggesting that their idea of fresh is most likely fresh frozen. I therefore decided to order either the small filet or crab cakes. Our server said the crab cakes were deep fried so I opted for the filet. I also sought his advice on which starch to order and ended up with the mashed potatoes. While we waited for our entrees to be prepared, we helped ourselves to the very mediocre salad bar. Our entrees arrived as we concluded our salads and I was a bit surprised at the portion size of both the steak and potatoes. The mashed potatoes were a very large portion and turned out to be the highlight of our meal. My steak, weighing in at something less than the stated 5-ounces, was perfectly cooked to medium rare, but had a streak of gristle and was also tough. We concluded our meal with a shared chocolate mousse that was relatively small for the price and not very memorable. There is nothing that will entice me to return.

very disappointing dinner last night. Over cooked steaks and they didn't seem to care.

This is a great steak house! It is refreshing to go to an authentic steake house that isn't commercial. The staff is excellent and the food is wonderful. It is kid friendly. Some people think it is too dark, but I think it relaxing. I have never had a bad steak nor merlot. Also, the seafood is fantastic. I recomend the Killer Tuna, although I think that might be a special. They also know how to cook their meet. If anything they will under cook, this way you can always send it back to the grill for a few more minutes. Nothing worse than over cooked steak. Also, a friend of mine rented out a private room for a staff party there and they didn't even charge her.
