Not happy with changes in service
We are long time customers of the Hoffman House. We have been going there for years. We are a family of five and spend a great amount each Saturday night and drive about an hour. The Prime Rib is always what we order for the whole family. However, the last several times we have been there the changes that the owner Bob is making are not good. He has replaced the bacon on the salad bar with hard chemical bits that you would get at a low class restaurant, the cheese shredded cheese that used to be soft and yummy is now hard bits, and to top it all off they have not had Prime Rib the last two Saturday nights. This place advertises the Prime Rib as there thing. It's on the front of the building, TV commercials, etc... Tonight we went there and called to make sure they had Prime Rib just to make sure. The hostess said ""yes we have it"" and I said are you sure? She then said ""yes"" we drove an hour and when we got there ""she said I'm sorry we ran out five mins ago"". She is not the normal hostess, the normal hostess is very sweet. This one knows who we are because we are valued customers and she acted as if she did not care. She said you can go another place if you want. I said we drove an hour to come here. We ended up leaving, the kids crying. The night was a mess. This is nuts. Bob the owner is getting cheep or going broke, I don't know. My husband and I are so upset from our experience tonight we both agreed we would not return again. It's upsetting to us though because we have gone there for so many years. Now we have to find a new place and a new server. Carolyn was our server and we loved her. We will miss her. The new improved Hoffman House doesn't care about there long time customers anymore. It's sad.
