Airport Pet Lodge
- BBB Rating:
I toom my two little puppies here having heard all good reviews. I was more than disapointed. My dogs stayed for two days and as soon as i picked them up i knew something was wrong. I asked the attendant if anything had happened and she said no they were great. Soon as i got home my one dog who is usually extremely perky went in the corner and peed himself. Not long after he ended up pooping a very watery sto with blood in it. Upon taking him to the vet she told us he had a bacterial infection which is most often associated with themeating old moldy food. The next day my other puppy came down with the same symptoms and the vet said he had the same thing. I will definitely never take my boys here again, and unless you want a sick dog on your hands i wouldnt suggest you do either. Worst experience ever!
I highly recommend the airport pet lodge. We have taken our 3 dogs there for over 2 years. We have nothing but the BEST experience! The staff is always friendly, the facilities are always clean, they have a great play yard for the dogs to run around in, and if they stay 3 or more nights, they get a free bath! We used to take them to a different pet lodge, and, had nothing but the worst experience there. This is the only place we trust, and we always let everyone know!
I drive from Freeport, IL to board my two dogs at the Airport Pet Lodge. When I call them, they always answer with a friendly voice, they are extremely accomodating and treat my dogs like their own. The kennels are neat and clean and decorated very cheerfully. Some of the walls have murals painted on them. They even have an onsite groomer who bathes and cuts their hair and she is very good. Prices are very reasonable and the gang at Airport Pet Lodge go above and beyond when caring for my dogs. I would suggest the Pet Lodge to anyone. Plus its very close and convenient to the Rockford airport!

I have had two horrible experiences with the Airport Pet Lodge. I am new to the area and didn't know where to take my dog to be boarded. I have a very well trained Rhodesian Ridgeback. He is short haired and big. The Airport Pet Lodge is near my husband's work, so it seemed convenient. Both times we have boarded our dog there he has come home reeking of urine, and the dog bed we took was destroyed. Like I said he is very well trained (kennel trained as well) and would not have done this to himself. I have had to board him several times at several different places, and this is by far the worst place I have ever taken him to. I have visited several different pounds, and they have all been far cleaner. We paid $15.50 a night (for four nights) and an extra $3.oo charge for a playtime each day. He was supposed to get a complimentary bath with more than a 3 night stay. Needless to say, that didn't happen. I will never have my dog boarded there again. I would recommend taking your pet somewhere (anywhere) else.
I toured all the pet boarding facilities in the Rockford and Loves Park areas. The staff was nice and answered all my questions; however, the place was damp, cold, and somewhat stinky. I decided not to take my dog there.
I appreciate the comment about my staff. The concern that the kennel was damp and cold was most likely a tour that was taken right after our morning cleaning. We completely hose down the kennel and disinfect every morning. The kennel dries fast but will be a little damp for a short time. As you can imagne, a clean kennel is the upmost importance to us.
