Ellwanger Barry Nursery School is a parent-run cooperative alternative preschool. We have our second child there currently, and he loves the school! The teacher is very gentle, experienced and a lot of fun. The preschool curriculum is play based, emphasizing cooperative play and the social-emotional development of children. Exploration of nature and the environment is a prominent part of the curriculum. The children garden, cook, press apple cider, compost. EBNS is probably the greenest preschool in the area, our teacher rides his bicycle, we carpool and use public transortation for field trips when appropriate and generally we try to be mindful of environmental issues in every aspect of school life. The community of participating families is very nurturing and supportive, we have made many lasting friendships. I would recommend this preschool without any reservation whatsoever.

I have loved the whole experience of having my son at GCCNS. I like being able to participate in his classroom when he's "special helper" for the day (optional). I also love that he brings a book home every week with a matching stuffed animal-he is always so excited about what book he'll get next. This preschool has been a great fit for our family. In all honesty both the teachers and the curriculum that is found at Greece Montessori School can not be matched. It is a school unlike any other. I most very grateful for the life skills that this school has taught my children.
