I was a secretary for them They're PIGS. They would always have calls from angry customers that I was told to ignore. Oh and I got very sexually harrassed.

This was a terrible experience. I should have had my head examined to hand over 50% of the job in advance, IN CASH. Why does he not take credit cards?? Because he robs Peter to pay Paul



Some of the issues:



One edge was not rounded off. A pantry door

that opens into it hit it. They simply cut it off at a 45 degree angle. It looks awful.



The undermount sink should be secured to clips attached to the underside of the counter. It was simply silicone onto it, and the sink has already dropped down.



The original formica had a section that was notched into the door casing. Awful. Anyone with experience would have noticed this, and asked if we wanted to duplicate that. Now it is installed into a cracked door casing.



The grout lines are much too wide in one section where the backsplash they installed meets the tile.



The worst part was never getting any return calls, and having them not show up for appointments. The owner refused to return my calls.



Stay far away from these guys!!!!!!!

When I first went to Metropolitan Granite's showroom in Williamsville I was really quite impressed. (Even though the walls and floor looked as though they ran out of money - I chalked it up to they were still moving in) The sales rep, I believe her name was Jessica, was amazing. She helped me with selecting the granite and even got samples for us from Rochester. She was very patient with us as we were going to place a large order and needed to take our time and really look at all of our options. When we back to the showroom last week we were shocked and quite frankly confused as to why there were large closed signs posted. We called and talked to someone in Rochester who only told us that they were looking for a new sales rep but refused to go into any further detail. We are good friends with the owners of another business in the same building and asked if they had any insight in to what happened. We finally got the truth from them! They were served a pay or evict notice from the landlord (they had only been there for a few months!), and the guys told us that they would talk with the manager and she (and other employees in Rochester and Syracuse) were constantly having trouble with paychecks not coming and even had to deal with bounced paychecks. I am so glad that I did not give my money to a company that refuses to pay their bills and their employees. Who does that!? I hope any other future potential clients read these reviews and RUN! Take your money to a more reputable company! There are so many other options that do not have several bad reviews.

Let me start by saying that installing granite in older homes is not a very easy job. The granite is very heavy and difficult to maneuver. The install team did a fine job and I was very happy with the results. On the business side of that operation I was given everything that I was promised on time. I wasn't asked to pay my final 90% until I was happy with the installation. That is the part that I don't understand about some of the bad remarks that I've seen. I suspect that most of those people would be unhappy no mater what. The biggest reason I chose MG&M was their price was by far the best I could find. Plus their time line for my counter-top was two weeks ahead of Home Depot. Lindsey was honest and upfront with me and called to see if I was happy with the installation. Ish also came by to see if everything was going ok.

Let me start by saying I was suspicious from the beginning. I read the reviews but found the pricing to be competitive here in Syracuse. I decided to get a quote from Michael and he seemed honest and trusting. I set up an appt. to meet with Lindsey in Rochester and choose my stone. Then an office member called and scheduled me for the measurements and install. Up to this point, everything was great. However, two days before my install, I received a call saying they had to push my install off three days. I said NO and got upset with the woman on the phone, who turned out to be the only helpful member of this place. She talked with the "boss" and got my install back on for the original date. The install went fine until they did not install a piece of granite because they "forgot it at the shop". Come to find out, they never cut it and need to order another piece of this to finish. I have been waiting now several weeks with no return calls and an unfinished job.

Ismail Cakir is nothing but a scam artist! Stay away from this company. He probably needs to keep opening new locations because no one from Buffalo - Syracuse will ever send a referral to him! He'll only partially complete your kitchen, steal your money, you'll have plumbing problems, he'll ruin your cabinets, your granite won't be properly sealed and your sink will fall out. STAY AWAY!!!!

Metropolitan Granite did an awesome job installing our new granite countertops. Our bathroom was in the back of the house and we thought for sure it would be difficult to get the piece in the house, but the installers expertly maneuvered the piece and it looks perfect!

I was incredibly pleased. The granite looks beautiful, was a great price and everyone was very friendly and professional.

My worst customer experience EVER! I have gone through small claims court, won judgements, BBB, etc. and Ishmael Cakir, the owner, still has my $2000.00 deposit for NO granite, for NOTHING! How does someone like this not only STAY in business but open new stores? When I drive by his storefront everyday on the way to work I just fume! I feel badly for all you people out there that have lost so much money, time, not to mention the inconvenience, frustration and STRESS. There are so many great companies out there that are reputable and do terrific work. Please don't be duped like I was.

Do not do business with this company. Want proof go to the Better Business Bureau and you will see they have an "F" rating. My experience with them is I gave them my deposit for a granite slab and they dropped the slab and broke it. I could not find the color again so I asked for my deposit back. They would not return my money and I have to take them to small claims court and won and I am still trying to collect my money back.

Stay away from Ish Cakar. He is a thief. He has been floating my money for almost a year. I paid 1/2 down and he did not deliver. Lynsey Harris fields his phone calls and will not let you talk to him once something goes wrong. He took my money and could not deliver the product. The BBB Bureau cannot help you and the Attorney General cannot help. I was awarded a judgment and he still will not pay. STAY AWAY from all of his businesses Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo. He is a liar and a thief and his staff lies right along with him.

Ish is a complete thief!! Do not do business with them or you will regret it. He will not return your call, he hides behind the girls answering the phone. He is quick to take your deposit , then they change appointments, don't show up, poor quality workmanship, miss cuts. they will not fix after you waited extra weeks for install.

I too should have read these reviews. We purchased granite from this company and the whole experience has been similar to the others. We purposely went with them and set up our measurements way in advance. They told us that they would be back on a certain date to finalize them and then install the granite within a week. Well that never happened. Finally they delivered it and a major portion of the job was done incorrectly due to their error. They promised they would be back to install the faulty piece and missed that date, then today I get another call and they aren't coming. What they did install has still not been sealed. My house is a disaster and it is delaying our date for our Open House. NEVER, EVER, pay them in full. Who knows how long it will be before the job is completed.

Wow what a difference. Total disappointment this time. THey had done our kitchen and decided to have them do out bathroom as well. What a disappointment. They gave us a timeline of 2-3 weeks to have the granite in. It is now past 3 weeks and they have not a clue when it will be in. We keep getting the response of "we have to see when ther truck brings it". Rather ironic since their supplier is 5 miles away and they can;t figure how to load it on a truck and deliver it... While the receptionist is nice there is no communication and we keep getting "I will note it in your file..." Now our contractor basically have to wait on them. Bad service. I wish I had checked the BBB. THey have a rating of "F". Now I know why. I would recommend staying away unless you have lots of time and you don;t care when they get to you...Very disappointed...

I can't believe this company is still existing after all the shady dealings the owner partakes in (check out Angie's List, BBB, BCB, Attorney General's Office, Rochester.citysearch.com, , yahoo maps, etc. ) The owner may appear personable and friendly, but watch out if he makes a mistake with your order or installation. He will not stand hehind his work or promises. When researching the above sites, note theobvious friends of the company whom have recently submitted within a short time of each other, glowing recommedations to stategically cover over the reviews coming from the real, angry public who have suffered from this company. They sure sound like devised advertisements to me! Check Rochester.citysearch.com for such review titles as: 1. Never Again 2. Crooks 3. Very Disappointed 4. Buyer Beware.

I can't believe that this company is still existing after all the shady dealings the owner partakes in (check out Angie's List, BBB, BCB, City Search and Yahoo Maps (which the owner had people write positives to offset the negatives, etc.). He may appear personable and friendly, but watch out if he makes a mistake with your order or installation. He will not stand behind his work and will either not deliver your prepaid product or refuse to make good on his own mistakes. So, if you choose to use him anyways, you're taking a chance on getting what you pay for.

We could not be happier with the superior graniute work you did in both our kitchen and bathroom. You saved us a fortune, your installers were kind, informative and professional. I would highly recommend your fine company to anyone.
