Had this cake recently at a wedding and thought the icing was the sugary kind not smooth buttercream...did not like the taste ...but it was decorated nicely.

Goodness Cakes is my weekly bite of heaven. I have never been a fan of cupcakes, yet their cupcakes call to me weekly! :) Nick and Bethany are amazingly gracious and inviting. They also have a talent for creating desserts that are never too sweet, just full of perfect flavor. Their cakes have a light texture, the frosting never overwhelms the cake, just compliments. I recently tried their "Musicians Tart", a delectable mix of figs, dates and pears, I believe. The sickly sweetness one finds in most tarts is not there. It had a perfect balance of flavors, And the crust? Perfection! Make sure you try their Peanut Butter & Jelly cupcakes when they have them (they change flavors monthly, although the vanilla bean, a must try, is always available).
