As a matter of policy, all requests to send medical records to a primary care physician will, instead, be sent directly to the requesting patient/parent/legal guardian. In our experience, many primary care physicians and their healthcare organizations do not routinely scan records into their electronic health records system. We will thus send such records directly to the appropriate requester, who can then confirm that the primary care physician's office wants them... after which the requester can provide these records personally. In such instances, we strongly recommend that the requester keep the set of records sent to them by our office permanently... and make copies if you wish to give to anyone else.
