I went there with my wife and 2 friends. Walked in to a smiling face. The decor in there is very nice. The restaurant is beatiful overing looking the river even in the winter. Plus the fire place adds a nice touch. They have a very nice wine selection. For an appitizer we all shared a crab stuffed mushroom it was so good we all used are bread to soak up all the sauce from the plate. For my dinner i had veal forester and my wife had shrimp mamma mia are friends had the osso bucco and seafood pasta. Everything was amazing there wasnt a bite left on anybodies plate. For the price and entree size I would recommend it to everybody. The waiter was very nice and knowledgeable and took care of all are needs. This place is truely a hidden gem. In my opinion Mamma Mia's is a must go to!!!

Had dinner last night (2/2/13). Got there at 6...restaurant was bare. Started with 1 waiter and ended with another...little weird. Food was fair. Oddest think was being charged for the ice in my drink...way weird.

So finally something went in that beautiful building. I went to fortesa's while it occupied that space. It really in a nice set up. It's a shame no one really knows its there. Mamma Mia's just opened, so being a big fan of Italian food my girlfriend and I tried it out. The space looked much better than Fortesa's, which was very dark and gloomy. We didn't wait long for a table and the hostess was very nice. However this is when are experience of Mamma Mia's went south. We waited so long for our server I actually had to track one down. Our drinks didn't take too long, but our mussel app took forever. When we did get them, the flavor was good, but enough were not opened to make one wonder. The entrees came promptly after our Appetizer was cleared however. My girlfriend got the lasagna and I could the veal piccata. The veal was good very good. I tried my girlfriend's lasagna and was a little shocked though. During my later years of high school I worked in a banquet kitchen as a busser. The chef was kind enough to have a staff meal prior toots events. He served two things; roasted chicken or lasagna that came frozen from Sysco. For those of you who do not know what Sysco is, think Gordon Foods (GFS) for restaurant (which GFS also caterers too). To my amazement their lasagna tasted just like the frozen ones I used to eat at the banquet hall. I was very shocked, and very dissappointed. Our server was nice, the veal was good, and for these TWO reasons I am giving a rating of TWO stars. So I wouldn't say try Mamma Mia's, but if you do, don't get the lasagna because you can make frozen lasagna at home for much much cheaper.
