I'm not sure how , but each visit ramps up & increases me expectations & enthusiasm ! We love 112 Pizzeria Bistro, for our thin crust fix/hankering. Usually we order the Bugsy Siegel, but you know how you can get in a rut from time to time, and order the same thins/favorite over & over? Well we decided each visit now, will include the MAGNIFICENT house sald for $5 & the House Dressing , but we were going to try most every pizza pie. [ except the Corrington with truffle oil..I just do not know ] So 3-2-14 we tried the Noir which is new to the menu: Double red sauce , pepperoni ,tomatoes, crimini mushrooms & feta cheese . It was fabulous! Jimmy the owner stopped by our table & we chatted pies, he wondered how we liked the new NOIR pizza Also we chatted about Supinos, Fresca & Tomato's Apizza all in a positive light. And how customers are/were clamoring for delivery, but this pizza needs to be eaten on site or within 5 minutes of pickup, to retain its ooey gooey goodness. Nice to meet a owner who is positive & cares about his actual product & its long term integrity. Cannot wait to go back...hoping to try a pasta dish eventually!
The restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere. We were disappointed in the food. We ordered a cesare salad which was soggy, bland, and had only a few leafy pieces of romaine - the rest was stems. My husbands pasta was bland and only had a small amount of the additional ingredients - it was a big bowl of pasta with a dash of pancetta and asparagus. We tried some of our friend's pasta and also thought it was bland. The manager was nice and happy to take the food off the bill. The waitress was great expect that when ordering she corrected my Italian mother-in-law's Italian who speaks the language fluently. I gave this restaurant three stars because there were some good things about it - I thought that the service was good, it was clean, and some of our guests enjoyed their food. If you like watered down Italian-American food this place is for you. My husband is Italian, I've worked in an Italian banquet hall for 11 years, have been to Italy a few times, and study authentic Italian cuisine - this is not the place for me.
I have been going to this place since I can remember for the last 16 years when it was owned by Pete Carrera which it ran great. Now that it has been bought out by caldians the customer service is not near as great and when you place a order most of the workers sound like they don't even want or care for your business. They just sound down and depressed and slam the phone when your done placing your order with them. It's very unfortunate as I love there food, even though they serve stale bread sticks often even though they claim there semi fresh many times which is a lie. I will keep my orders to a minimum with this place as they just don't seem to care about great customer service and that is very unfortunate as I will have to take my business elsewhere.
