Plaza Cleaners

I'm sure everyone's had at least a few bad experiences at the cleaners. It's discoloration, missing buttons, fabric pressed the wrong way, you needed it by today for a party and it's still off-site...



John, the owner of Plaza Cleaners on Pierce, turned what could have been a nightmare for me into the perfect evening. I had a company function and had picked out the perfect cocktail dress for it. I dropped it off on Thursday after work and they promised me it would be ready by Friday. Lo and behold... Friday came around and when I went to pick it up, I was told that it had to be cleaned offsite and it wasn't delivered. As you can imagine, I was frantic and pissed...



Here's where you appreciate good old fashioned customer service. John and his wife didn't give me the sorry, can't do anything about it speech. Instead they ACTUALLY ASKED ME what my urgency/problem was and when I explained about the function, John not only tried repeatedly to get in touch with the off-site facility, he actually offered to help me buy another dress. He encouraged me to run to the mall and purchase something else comparable and bring him the receipt so he could chip in within reason. I mean... it's silly right? Just money, almost sounds like a cheap bribe to make me shut up but... who nowadays does this?



Anyway, a half hour after I left the cleaners debating whether I should dig something up in my closet or take his offer up and stop at Bloomingdales... John's wife called my home and said she was on the way over to my house with .. yes, MY DRESS. They had gotten in touch with the other cleaners and she picked it up so she could deliver it.



What a sweet couple they are.. I think they are Korean?



It's good to see such wonderful customer service still around today.
