The ambiance is great! This place spared no detail to making the venue look and feel inviting. It will remind you of a upscale beach restaurant. The food was just average with a hefty price tag. This review will reflect an appetizer and three entrees. Photos are enclosed as well. Cocktail I ordered the Lindbergh for my wife. We never received it. Charbroiled Oysters The oysters were flavorful but dry. Almost as if they left off the butter glaze. I've had better and will definitely not recommend these if they regularly prepare them as such. Sheep Ricotta Gnocchi with Lobster This entre is stunningly served with a shelled lobster head. The presentation is excellent. This taste however was not so impressive. Lobster portions were okay and vanilla lovers will appreciate the sauce, but it tasted like a cake to me. I would recommend this dish. Fried Seafood Platter What a seafood experience without the platter? This entree is very deceiving; they load you up on a mound of fries, and accompany it with shrimp, 3 small pieces of fish, and make up for the rest with sizable fried oysters. All in all, this was a good choice. Fish On A Plate This was the best entree experience of the visit. We chose salmon topped with jumbo lump crab meat and the lemon beurre blanc sauce. Coupled that with some brussel sprouts. The salmon was grilled to perfection. The crab meat was flavorful but the sauce was slightly bland. Not a bad complain, as one could add salt to taste. The value of the entree was average, compared to McCormick & Schmick's Stuffed Atlantic Salmon, which is served with a shrimp and crab brie stuffing, potatoes and vegetables for the same price as this entree. Overall, I was moderatly impressed. The platter and the salmon would be the only two items I'd reorder. I'd like to try other dishes to get a better feel of the restaurant. Others highly recommended the bone-in rib eye, so that will probably be my next selection.
There are several cafes in the area that feature middle eastern/Mediterranean foods and all are at least “pretty good” When it comes to this place the one word that comes to mind is “Quality.” While we like the variety this place offers, I'd eat here if it only offered the same ole thing you could buy anywhere. Why 'cause if these guys are going to do it, it will be done with quality. We buy spices, olive oil, tea, cheese as well as sitting down and eating the grilled fish or the vegitable plate(we usually waddle when we leave.) At this point you probably think I have an interest in the business, but truly my only interest is that it stay around because all too often quality is not what you find among the pre-packaged chains, or others who “cut corners” My wife thinks I'm picky, well, maybe I am;but I tire of tomatoes that are tasteless and “fresh” that comes out of a box.
One of Jackson's finest and not yet discovered by the majority of local residents! The atmosphere is very warm along with the owner and staff. My fiends and I eat here for every special occasion and also anytime we are in the vicinity - have always ordered the seafood (absolutely the best scallops I've ever had) with all being excellent and cooked to perfection. Just wish I lived closer so I could eat here every day!
I adore Sal & Phil's shrimp PoBoy. The gumbo is also really good. I've heard they have a great seafood buffett. Whenever I want a great poboy, this is where I go! Excellent!
Terrific Seafood, very nice servers, very pleasant atmosphere, good plating and presentation.
