Tequillas Mexican Grill

The food was the best authentic Mexican food I've ever had. I love Mexican food and I've tried most of the places around Ridgeland MS and Tequilas is by far the best. The restaurant is very clean and looks stunning, and the food is off the charts. Dining conditions are amazing. They have a great patio area to eat outside on nice day, the have a large bar and a smaller bar connected that is upstairs, the floor plan is amazing.



We got in and were greeted by the host. As soon as we were seated out drink order was taken and within 2 minutes he was back with drinks and chips/salsa. When he took our order it was out and on our table in about 5 minutes My fiance and I, during the time were eating, were discussing how great the food tasted and how quick we received it. After we finished eating, we were actually stunned by our ticket because the price was so low for our great experience. The host let us tour the bar area and gave us more information about the restaurant. All in all, this is a wonderful place. My fiance and I have been searching for a place for a routine date night and we've found our restaurant. Keep it up Tequilas. You are fantastic!

I have been many times to tequilas the food is great something different not no tex mex the salsa is the best of all and the drinks are great I went when they had karaoke and live music it makes it nice to be there enjoying your food..keep it up tequilas!!!

It took 2 hrs for someone too take our order. Good luck on getting help from management. I give this business 6 months before they out of business

Regardless of what so many people have said about tequilas I have heard more good comments than bad ones I actually enjoy that place it has a different atmosphere than the other ones food is the bomb, the drinks omg the bartender is a geniuos all my respect to him service is great probably I have order every dish on the menu and let me tell you all dishes are exellent plus they just make new dishes for lunch time and it's cheaper I like to interact with the servers there's one so open minded that can take you from one point to another one and give you a description of the environment, I got to admit they did have problems at first but hey you learn from mistakes also I have seen costumes walk out without paying make a whole lot of drama because they don't want to pay but they want eat for free so sad to see that. Last time I saw how this group of black guys were arguing after they had order food and margaritas and went off on the cashier and on the waiter sad to see that probably they should of read the menu and than order instead of humiliating those poor fellows well that all I have to say and one more thing keep on doing what y'all doing tequilas y'all exceptional and one of a kind not a copy but original on y'alls own way have a wonderful bless day

I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN! It took forever to get our food. THEN they put gratuity of 18% on a party of five and told us that the computer automatically does this for parties of five and more but the ticket stated that gratuity was only added for parties of 8 or more. After looking closely at the reciept, we saw the waitress put in that it was a party of 8. The problem was not paying but the fact that most would overlook this and tip on top of the already added gratuity. Then when I asked for it to be taken off I was told it was impossible, then I ask to speak to a manager and was told there was no manager there, sad thing about it is that I had to walk around restraunt to find a manager, and there one was! This is the worst customer service I have ever had in my life.

I was there the first week they opened it was a disaster, decide to give them another chance, totally worth the second chance, I got there within seconds I had chips and salsa, the best salsa I tasted in years since I moved to MS, I ordered a Cantarito and man it was this sweet and sour mix drink that made my taste buds go crazy, to eat I ordered the Chile en ahogada I think was called. It was a poblano pepper stuffed with ground beef smothered in a sweet tangy dressing, my wife had the shrimp tacos and they were really delicious, something completely diffrent from your everyday mexican restaurant....and the place itself one of a kind....loved it.

This was literally the worst restaurant experience I have ever had.



I too wanted to like this place.....but any other mexican restaurant in the area puts it to shame. We waited to be seated, waited for our drink order and waited to order before we ever got chips and salsa. The salsa made me nauseous right away and when the waitress brought our meals she had originally delivered one to the table next to us and gotten the other order completely wrong. My dining partner sent his order back and refused to wait for a replacement....my shrimp tacos were bland. Once my meal was delivered, we never saw our waitress again and the other staff couldn't seem to find her. So, we just left cash on the table before leaving. My dining partner was sick the rest of the night after just consuming chips and salsa.



Like I said before, ANY other mexican restaurant is better than this joint.

I really wanted to like this place, but it's so bad, I feel sorry for them...



This is the old Jake's Seafood building which had been vacant for a couple of years now - so I'd hoped something decent would move in there and establish itself. Tequila's is not going to do that, though.



The atmosphere is lacking - which is something I can forgive if the food is decent - but that's not the case.



We ordered the coconut shrimp (forgot what it was called on the menu, but that's what it was supposed to be) - it was slathered in something that was supposed to be a mango sauce, but tasted like baby food with a metallic aftertaste.



Also ordered was the Chimichanga - described on the menu as having "tender chunks of beef - instead it contained pellets of ground beef. My wife actually swore after cutting into it. The menu descriptions not matching the product seem to be a problem, as we heard another table complain to their waiter that their order did not match the description on the menu.



Finally, I had the Carne Asada tacos - Carne Asada tacos are supposed to have strips of steak, but these had some kind of meat with the size and consistency of pencil erasers and was largely flavorless - which was probably not a bad thing based on the shrimp with baby food sauce.



Rice, beans and some grilled vegetables came as sides on the meals - all were flavorless save for the grilled vegetables which also had a strange metallic aftertaste.



I can appreciate what they're trying to do in this establishment - trying to class-up standard mexican dishes - but it just doesn't work.
