Osaka Sushi & Steak

On 12/29/09, I had an awful experience at Osaka, River Road. I had eaten at this location before and took my family while visiting from Jacxksonville, FL.

The waiter was terrible. He was rude to my children & nephews, and was really disinterested. Our sopa and salads were brought at the same time. We were not given a choice between white or brown rice. Our drinks were only refilled after our requests. My steak was charred and blacked on the other. It took nearly 20 minutes to have a correctly cooked steak to me. The rest of my party had long finished their meals. I/we expected the manager to at least offer to comp my meal or offera free dessert. Nothing. The bill was $191, which included a 20% gratuity. I guess this was for parties over six, our waiter never mentioned it. My 72 year old mother insisted on paying for dinner and almost gave this lousy waiter another tip. If it would have been possible I would have left no tip at all.

I will never patronize or recommend this restaurant to anyone.

By far my favorite sushi restraurant in Richmond. The food is great with both raw and cooked options. There is plenty of variety. The Maki options are very creative. They are also very flexible and you can order off the menu, from the specials board, from prior specials offered or your own special requests. The raw fish is always very fresh and flavorful. The employees friendly. The atmoshpere is nice with several seating options from Sushi Bar, to Cocktail Bar, to tables and booths.
