We have been looking for a good rib place since Bobby retired and his place on hilltop closed. Had to go to Oakland for a couple of years until we came across CJ's, which we like better than any of the Oakland BBQ's. Traditional style, slow smoked over real wood in an ancient, well-seasoned oven. Ribs are meaty, not fatty, smoked right length of time so not too soft, or too firm. Sauce is great (we get mild on ribs, hot on the side for me) and the sides are also good. Over 30 yrs of eating bay area (and anywhere else we go) ribs, and CJ's are our favorites. We hope Bobby is enjoying his retirement cuz we surely enjoyed his ribs.
