I took my car here to be repaired after I was hit on the right bumper. The repairs looked nice after I got the car back and I was happy....until.....the next week I went to my car maintenance shop and found that something had been unplugged in the air conditioning that would not allow me to get air conditioning. I could get it repaired but it would cost me money when the problem was caused by Dodd's. When I called back, the lady was very nice and said to bring it back in. I did and the very first thing the tech said before I even got the first word out of my mouth, was "we never got under the hood" in a very belligerent manger. I offered to call my mechanic to have him verify what he had written on my work order, but the tech kept insisting they never went under the hood, which is stupid since they had to replace the hood and bumper from the accident and when you remove the bumper the air conditioning unit is right there. I became very unhappy, but he offered to check it out. I called my mechanic anyway, who stayed on the line with me until the tech came back and announced "well, we did find something needed to be reconnected and we'll do it now". !!!!! I have no problem with the looks of my car, but this exchange I had with the tech was not necessary. I will be loathe to recommend anyone to go there unless your insurance company insists.

DONT GO THERE BAD SERVICE AND ...

DONT GO THERE BAD SERVICE AND THEY LIE. IT all started being 4 small dents. one on the roof and one on the trunk. the rest were on the passenger side. they told me one week to pull the dents and paint the side, trunk, and roof. i was okay with that. a week goes by, they say 2 more weeks. so now it has taken 3 weeks and i havent heard from them. it goes on a month. i get my car back but the paint that they "repainted" was Orange peeled, also they did not buffer it out. My Car Looked Worse Than when it went in. also they messed up my weather seals on the roof, and the weather seals around the windshield. there was a lot of "phone calls missed" according to them because they said they called my cell phone daily...LIE, but it has been 2 and a half months and my car is STILL IN THERE SHOP TODAY !!!!! i dropped it off yesterday to get that paint rebuffed and sandblasted because they do not know what the hell they are doing. and they told me it will take one day. now they are saying a couple days because one of the seals they ordered was bad.... BULLSH*T , THEY JUST CANT DO THERE JOBS TO SAVE THEIR LIFE'S . DO NOT GO THERE TAKE IT FROM MY EXPERIENCE. OH AND I PAID 3,500 FROM MY INSURANCE AND THEY STILL COULDNT DO IT RIGHT WITH THAT MUCH MONEY HANDED TO THEM. DONT GO THERE IF YOU WANT YOUR CAR WORKED ON BY SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

I took my car to this shop because I was referred by a tow company that does business in the Columbus-area. If I would have known the quality of work of this company I would have taken it to another reputable shop. The first time I authorized them to work on my car the time frame was supposed to be within ten days. It far exceeded the ten days because as of today they still had to work on it! The first time I picked up my car the trunk wouldn't lift up because they didn't replace the parts on it. Keep in mind I was in a left rear end collision which also affected the trunk area. This company tried to tell me that it was broken before the accident (which it wasn't). My car was in pristine condition with the exception of a few knicks in paint and dents from the normal wear and tear of a 2002 vehicle. In addition to this, the trunk of my car wasn't lined up properly with the parts on my car that were fixed. They claimed that it they didn't notice it, but it was obvious that it wasn't lined properly. After what was meant to be a ten-minute fix which turned out to be a 45 minute fix I was then told to take my car home. After reminding them that I wasn't satisfied with their quality of work, I took my car to the dealership to get a full work up. Not only did they not adjust the car properly but they did not replace the axel or boot in the place of impact. Now tell me how these professionals can be underneath a car all day for a supposed 70+ hours and not notice that the CV boot was leaking and broken??? Following my full work up at the dealership I called this establishment and informed them of the damages that they did not fix, after a lot of complaining one of their employees finally told me that he ordered the parts and he would get my car fixed one way or another. He left a detailed voice message to prove this claim, so I wasn't worried about getting shoddy service. However, he insisted that his employees come and pick up my car from my home to take it back to the shop to get fixed. I thought this was either strange or a nice gesture due to the fact that I had been treated so poorly by this business. I let them pick up my car and drive it to the shop but what really annoys me is that they still heard the knocking noise from the rear and didn't tell anyone! Also, they hatch struts that they ordered were the wrong part so they had to order a new set for the next week. Well, it was the next week this week and I called to see if they had received them, of course they did and they didn't tell me! So, hubby brought the car back to them to get fixed again, and he heard the knocking sound as soon as he left our drive-way. Once again, they claim to not have heard the noise. Off to Good year yet again and finally after months of work my car seems to be fixed! I would strongly suggest that anyone with out any knowledge of the businesses around here search elsewhere. Look up the reviews on the internet from as many sites as possible. Also, check out their BBB page and you will see that they are not an affiliated member (too scared?) and they have had recent complaints that have been filed and fixed through BBB. Honestly people, do the research before selecting a collision-repair shop!!!!

I was referred here by my mechanic to have some welding work done. They gave me an estimate but couldnt do the work for 2 wks. Said it would take them 2 days, and it only ended up taking 1/2 a day, but they still charged me the price for 2 days labor. When I asked why the price hadnt changed the lady threw my paper at me and told me, 'the price is what it is!' She then provided me w/ a price breakdown that did not match the total i was charged. Customer service was horrible, not to mention that the prices were highest in the area! I wouldn't dare return or refer there!

Great Experience

This place was recommended to me by a co-worker after my car was hit. It was minor damage, just scratches on my bumber. But I was in and out in a day. Also had a great experience with Enterprise car rental as well. I'm surprised to see these other reviews after my experience. My co-worker and her son both had went there and they loved them. Even the guy from the insurance company who did the estimate on my car said they were a great place with good prices when I told him that's where I was going for my repairs. I'm planning on going back to get a bad key scratch fixed as well, they estimated a very reasonable price to fix it.

3rd time around

This is my 3rd time having my car at Dodds, I have bad luck with being hit. The first time they had my CRV it did take quite a while, 2 weeks I think, but the whole city was covered in ice and under a level 3 for about a week of it so I have no complaints there. The last time I took my car there they were done in 2 days. My car is currently there and it has been 5 days, and should be done today. The staff may not be the most chipper all the time but they are friendly. I can't give much of a review on price since I got hit all 3 times, the other drivers insurance companies have always dealt with it; however, I can say that their insurance companies has always said that Dods is a good place to take the car, and well, insurance companies are cheap and don't like to pay out more than they need to.

Quite possibly the single most expensive body shop with the slowest service I've ever seen. Don't even think about giving them any suggestions or asking any questions. Poor service, ignorant office workers, slow repairs, parts from the most expensive places on Earth, most costly labor charges, etc. Thumbs down.

huge headache

This shop has given me and my wife the worst time of any place i have ever had service done. A tree fell on my car and house and this is where i was told to take my car. They have had the car for 3 1/2 weeks tree did 4,000 damage to the car. Broken windsheild,mirror,and scrathes to top and sides. My rental was for a month (with out me haveing to pay for it) was told that the car would be done on thurday same day rental was to be back,thought ok... no problem. Took the car back and then get a call that day the cars not done, they got wrong windshield, would be fri or sat.... Saturday "it will be monday".... Monady "it will be tueday.... Now i have been finding rides to work for 2 days and still don't know when the car will be done. Whats Dobbs have to help me? Nothing! no rental or loaner or nothing. Told them we had no rental now and got basicaly "sorry about your luck.....cars not done". I still have to pay them $500 (my deductable) no discounts or anything for the trouble they have put us throught. I thought 3 1/2 weeks was very long to fix a car no matter what is wrong with itmost shops could take the car apart and put it back in that time.So all in all i fell this shop has done very poorly in customer service and timely repair would definatlly NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone.
