While on a rare visit to Reno, we found this delightful restaurant. Originally, we chose the Stone House Café because they were advertised as having a ‘dog friendly’ patio. We made reservations for lunch for three, plus our two dogs. We were greeted by a friendly hostess, and seated promptly at a nice patio table protected by a large umbrella, shading our table. The food was good, prepared very well and presented nicely. The friendly wait-staff even brought a dog cookie for each of our dogs. We never felt as if the dogs were an imposition to the staff, and felt the dogs were as welcome as we were. Even though we were there for lunch, we had a chance to look over the breakfast menu. It looked as good as the lunch menu, and in fact we were so impressed by it, we returned the following morning for breakfast before we left town. The crab omelet was fantastic, and the food was all prepared exceptionally. This is a fantastic alternative to chain restaurants and mass produced casino food. On our next visit to Reno, we will be back to enjoy the great atmosphere and food.
I tried Papa Johns pizza for the 1st time and was impressed! I stayed at the Peppermill for Hot August Nights and went on-line to order pizza and saw all of their coupons and noticed they delivered so my family and I thought we'd try them out. Best pizza we ever had! Even my kids couldn't stop talking about it! They put a little cup of garlic butter in every pizza we ordered and we dipped our crust in it and it was delicious! Like a bonus for the pizza. They had something for everybody, speciallty pizza for me with the works, pepperoni for the kids, heck we even got salad, wings, sodas and desert and I was able to order it on-line and pay with my credit card without leaving my room or talking with anyone! How great is that! If you haven't tried them already you should, I know I will be looking for them from now on when I go out of town! I wish we had one in Fresno. Thanks Papa Johns!
We had 3 x-large pizzas there last Saturday afternoon. A gathering of 12 high school wrestlers that were really hungry. We had a Mega Meatza that had pepperoni, andouille sausage, italian sausage, beef crumbles, onions and green bell peppers. The andouille sausage had the kick that made this a favorite. The 2nd one was a hawaiian with jalapenos and the 3rd one was a Thai Chicken with roasted chicken marinated in a thai peanut sauce over a dough brushed with a bangcok plum sauce. The topping also had fresh bean sprouts and slivers of carrots. The kids thought this one was really cool as all they usually eat is cheese and pepperoni. We also had some of their house special Italian Wings and baby back smoked ribs. The atmosphere was great as the buiding is 140 years old and the kids just thought it was great. We'll diffenitely go back as will my wife and I. Sincerly, Sergio Valente
