I bought a massage for my boyfriend and asked for a male masseuse because my boyfriend is a tall, big muscular and I wanted someone able to manipulate his muscle density and give him relief from chronic pain. Well Matthew, who is very knowledgeable and thorough got the job done! My boyfriend came home almost wept because he wasn't in such severe pain! I personally would like to thank Matthew for taking the time and making him feel SO much better!

I have had better. I really hate conversation during a massage I was expecting more hand work. instead I was kneaded like a piece of bread dough it got rid of my pain..but the talking is a big no no. not sure I will go back.

I have had Brazilians done here as well as eyebrows. I love Tamara! She explained the whole process and was very caring. She makes it as painless as waxing can be and makes you extremely comfortable. The whole experience was great.

This is the only place I will ever go for waxing services. I booked my first brazaillian wax and had read all the horror stories and was a bit worried, Dana, my technician, put me right at ease and gave me a relaxing, entirely pain free brazallian wax. There was no receovery time needed because there was no pain, irritation or bumps. I am so pleased with my results and will return for re-waxing and other services. I reccomend Healing Wizdom to everyone in the Reno area.

This is the only spa I will go to for any kind of salon services. I go primarily for a brazilian wax and I've had almost every specialist treat me; I have simply enjoyed every single person that works here. Healing Wizdom's staff and environment are top notch and exceptionally pleasant. I recommend it to anyone who's looking for a peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Healing Wizdom is amazing! I came in a few months ago for a Brazilian bikini wax. I had never had any sort of wax before, and after doing some research I was understandably apprehensive. Shirley June was great. The technique they use (I don’t claim to understand it all) involves using oils to help loosen the hair. While it was uncomfortable, it was not painful. It went fast, and within minutes after the procedure I felt nothing uncomfortable. There was no recovery time whatsoever, no bruising, or any of the horrid things you read about. They also use great after products to sooth the skin and prevent ingrown hairs. I liked this so much that I’ve started regularly scheduling waxing at five week intervals. These later appointments go SUPER fast. They give you amazing tea after treatment and everyone is friendly and welcoming. I’ve been recommending them to everyone I know.

Edgy, spiritual hair for empowered women! Tamara is an artist. She transformed my botched "Paul Mitchell-esque-syle" (crying-in-the-chair) super-cut, into an a fashion- worthy adorable choppy i-can-style-it-or-not and it looks great 'do. With AMAZING, LASTING color to boot. I am soo pleased. I love that Tamara can look at pictures of styles i like and craft my individualized version that works in the real world. AWESOME HAIR!!

Simply the best! This was my first time for a brazilian wax and let me tell you how pleasant it was! Starting with the reception area and Deb, it was calming and soothing. The actual waxing was not embarassing, didn't hurt and Tamara was very nice. I honestly can't wait to go back! The decor was wonderful too! The entire experience left me very relaxed, plus the waxing look really good too! Thank you for a wonderful experience - I'm sory I waited so long!

Healing Wizdom is a great place for waxing especially Brazilian waxing! They take great care in making you feel comfortable and easing the “pain” that can be associated with waxing this delicate area by using hot rocks and warm pads and cloths and a wonderful calming lotion at the end. My personal favorite is Bryna who is extremely professional, comforting and very thorough with her work! I must also mention Mary at the front desk as she is always there to handle quick schedule changes and support the center with all of its business. I wouldn’t recommend any other center in town for waxing service!

I have been really pleased with the service here. They are really good about making sure you are satisfied. They call to remind you about appointments, to schedule new appointments, and to check if you are happy with their work. They also have a two week guarantee on their hair cuts so if you decide you don't like something, you can come back in to have it fixed. The owner gave me a cute and stylish hair cut. She listened to what I wanted and kept at it until it was just what I had envisioned. I then made another appointment with a new stylist who also did a good job. When it wasn't exactly how I had my hair done before, the owner put some finishing touches on it. The stylist also gave me a relaxing head massage while washing my hair. It was so nice!

I've had a few massages here over the years and so have some of my family members and the service/product have always been great. However, I recently had one of the best massages with Matthew. I had called on a Saturday in June and wanted a massage that weekend (as it was long overdue). I typically prefer a female therapist, but Matthew was available and the receptionist recommended him and I needed a massage. Healing Wizdom has always had 'good energy' and a pleasant experience, but Matthew really made it great by focusing on my tight areas and explaining some stretches I might try to keep loose. It was perfect and so I booked my next session in July (which I never do b/c I like having flexibility with my schedule) and that next massage was just as informative and relaxing. Matthew is a natural healer and I would recommend him to anyone looking to deeply relax and stretch out the body! Thank you Healing Wizdom!

I have been going to Healing Wizdom for waxing services for a year now and I am still positive that it is one of the greatest in customer care and service. I love the tea at the end of every appointment as well as the decorated rooms. It makes the experience calm and relaxing. After trying two other waxing services this is the one that stuck out. I guess third times a charm. This is definitely the place to go for waxing. Don't hesitate.

I would highly recommend Healing Wizdom and Kindra to anyone looking for a great experience with waxing. If it is your first time do not bother going anywhere else...Kindra made my experience with the Brazilian Wax a great one. She was professional, calming and was able to help with questions I had. She made me feel so comfortable and the calming lotion that is used afterwards topped the whole experience. From the front desk, the staff, the calming wax, the prices and the great cup of tea at the end I would recommend Healing Wizdom to all my friends.

I had a huge hair disaster right before my 21st birthday; I literally left the salon crying because my hair was basically black when I had asked for a rich red/brown. Anyway, I called Creative Colours to make an appointment with Shirley and she turned out to be a lifesaver. By far BEST stylist I’ve ever had!!! She is a hair genius. Trust me

I had a Salon 7 nightmare! Shirley came to my rescue by scheduling me a same-day appointment to have my haircolor repaired. Her main concern was the health and condition of my hair. She was able to expertly repair the color disaster created by Salon 7 and I am very pleased with the outcome. My hair is the color I originaly wanted it and it is so soft and manageable. I was treated as I image Shirly would treat a friend. I won't go anywhere else from now on!

I love this place! The entire staff makes you feel like you belong there for whatever reasons you are visiting. There is tea to start the process and smiles everywhere as the soft spa scents relax you. Kendra is my favorite, but then I've only been to her. I've been to other "spa"s for Brazilian waxes and never before had a tummy warmer pillow and a little mini-massage prior to a wax.



Kendra sets you at ease and makes you feel completely comfortable. She is wonderful at the art of distraction and is extremely quick as well as very thorough. The beds are of the highest quality and the entire atmosphere is designed to make you feel like you've left Reno and landed in a remote spa location. Healing Wizdom makes you wish that you didn't have to space your appointments so far apart. But the staff makes you feel like a true friend.

Awesome place!! Shirley worked hard getting my color corrected and right!

I am VERY careful who cuts my hair and/or colours my hair. Shirley is THE best. From the beginning there have been no "oops" or "so sorrys." I have gotten so many compliments about the quality of my hair cut. Even my husband gave a rave review. I assure you the review from my husband is a first!

Please give Shirley a chance to give you the best cut and colour you can ever want.

one VERY picky AND satisfied customer

This review is long overdue. I moved to Reno from San Francisco eight months ago and was in search of a good waxing place (eyebrows and brazilian) and based on the great yelp reviews decided to check this place out. This place is really as amazing as the reviews say it is.



I've been getting waxed since I was eighteen and as I moved around a lot I've been exposed to a number of different waxers. I have to say that this was the least painful experience I've ever had...maybe even bordering on relaxing side (yes, i didn't think that was possible either!). I've gotten several brazilian waxes by Kendra, and once was seen by Bryna. Kendra is confident and knows what she is doing--she's quick, helps you coordinate your breathing so that you experience a lot less pain as she pulls the wax off and the best part is, I no longer have any ingrowns! The warm towel on your belly, the hot rocks to hold on to and the post-wax products that they use make the dreaded ordeal seem more like a spa treatment. My experience w/ Bryna wasn't bad, but nothing compared to the quick and practically pain-free session w/ Kendra.



As for eyebrows, Tamara is the best. I may have to come back to Reno just for eyebrow waxes once i move back to SF! Even my husband noticed that my face looked prettier lol. I have had some eyebrow catastrophies in past w/ aestheticians taking way too much off and making my already chubby face look chubbier. Tamara leaves my eyebrows looking natural yet very well groomed. Also, I expect it is due to a combination of her expertise and the products that she uses, but I never have any post-waxing redness/scarring (which has been an issue in the past).



They're also really helpful w/ trying to accomodate clients. I'm a resident physician w/ a busy schedule and the girls on the phone are always trying to fit me in one way or another. Just last month I was running very late and Tamara ever so sweetly did my eyebrows over at her hair salon and was really nice about it!
