On October 31, 1864 President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed Nevada as the 36th state to join the Union. Coming from the Spanish word meaning “snow capped,” Nevada is nestled within the Great Basin Range Province and is home to numerous types of environments. This variety is not only limited to climates and landscapes, but, more importantly, Nevada is rich in its diversity with those who inhabit our beautiful state. With this, we are very honored to serve you tasty cocktails made with fresh ingredients from local sources as well as brilliantly crafted beers and wines from throughout this great region. At 1864 Tavern we not only want to showcase Nevada’s bountiful history, imbibing culture, and long honored traditions, but we especially want to celebrate our current achievements as a community. The future is bright for Nevada. Come in and Celebrate Nevada with us.
We've gone to Sierra Gold a few times now and have always had good food and service. It's also a good place to go on a Fri/Sat night to kick back and have a beer. However it is on the expensive side. A 24 oz beer was like $7 and our 12 inch pizza was about $18. Also they don't cater to children. (That's not a bad thing. Sometimes it's nice to go someplace and be around adults.) We took our 3 yr old w/ us to lunch one Sunday afternoon and they didn't have kid cups or high chairs to offer us.
When you walk in you feel welcome, the bartender greets you with a big smile!! You notice the attention to detail from the HD TV"v to the leather couches in the lower area and everything in between. Beautiful dark wooden accents around the bar area and partial brick walls gives a downtown Chicago type of feel. A great place to party or bring a date for a romantic evening.
