Very unsatisfactory service department
I wish I could give zero stars. I am so disappointed in Toyota 101 Service Department. I have a new Toyota (purchased at Toyota 101) and the air tire pressure warning light has come on twice. The first time, I was told by Toyota 101 (after being assured that the tire was completely checked) that nothing was wrong with the tire. The tire pressure warning light came on again (same tire was low) and since I was near Toyota 101, took the car in to be checked.
I was told that there was a nail in the sidewall of the tire and the tire could NOT be repaired and that I would have to buy a new tire. The price for the new tire was quoted as $230.00. When I questioned the price of the tire, I was told it is a special tire made for the Prius.
Because the dealership did not have the tire in stock, I went home without a new tire and air in the tire with the slow leak so it was safe to drive.
The next morning I took the car into Redwood General Tire in Redwood City. The nail was taken out of the tire and the tire was repaired. I drove away with the tire fixed and a $32.00 charge for the repair.
Redwood General Tire is wonderful!! I have been a customer there for years and have always received honest and good service.
