The Brewery Inn is under new management and is quite an oddity. It sits in an area of the city that most would perceive as being one they do not want to be in after dark. And yet they are doing well and are known for their quality food. A recent weekend night visit found them almost completely booked with reservations. The inside is attractive and bright. Very welcoming. This tavern is pro-Reading Beer - appropriate not only because it is the new "hometown beer" but because of its location in relation to the original brewery. The female staff wore shirts with their logo on the front and the Reading Beer logo on the reverse. My meal was good. The salad was fresh and the house dressing was unique and appealing. My steak was done as I requested and tasty but I felt $2 extra for the small pile of fried onions/mushrooms was excessive. The prices were reasonable and my Reading beers were cold and delicious. The waitresses were both attractive, one nearly stunning. I would like to return and sit at the bar vs just having a few beers with my meal. A good supper in an unexpected treasure in the city. www.americantom.com
This is the slogan they promote and our family found it to be true! Our two litte ones 6 and 3 enjoyed the kids menu and the kid friendly atmosphere with crayons, puzzles and such. Surprisingly, most family owned restaurants we've been to have not been "family" friendly! I tried a few of their 100+ bottled micro beers and my wife had glass of an Italian wine followed by a Californian red - delicious! We indulged in the six-couse dinner although the regular menu looks pretty appealing. We had a great time the food was great, prices were reasonable and we're gathering our family together for a holiday get together as we speak! Good Times!!
"Old Time" market service - I feel special when shopping due to the friendly accommodating staff The homemade food for sale is spectacular. I just cooked a meal from all purchased goods from the deli area = pesto, capenatta, pine nuts and I was the rave - great cooks make you look really talented in the food department. If you don't have time to make a meal from scratch and love good italian cooking I suggest you stop on your way home and purchase your meal. Vegetables are very nice and prices are better than Giant, Redners or Weis
