I just returned to Rawlins and was so warmly greeted by the charming and efficient General Manager and his front desk evening staff member Carrie. What a warm feeling and wonderful to be back for another stay! The renovations are looking wonderful as well as the room upgrades! Folks, this Hotel is one of the best values that I have found in my extensive travels. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the bed is luxurious. On top of that, Diamond Lil's puts out the best steak and a very friendly bar to enjoy a refreshing beer. BTW ... the Hotel has even provided a complimentary outdoor grill should that be something your'd like. I've used it several times and it is a nice break to be able to cook and eat at one's leisure. They even provided china and cutlery on loan. How good is that. On top of all this, there is a superb pool that is sizeable and nicely appointed indoors. But best of all is the helpfulness of the Staff.

We booked 2 rooms for an overnight stay on our way home. Yaya, the front desk attendant was excellent with her customer service. She let us see the rooms and choose which ones we wanted (one of them had a very strong spray cleaner smell that choked you when you entered the room). She also made fresh Otis Spunkmeyer cookies that evening and fresh popcorn...yummy! The breakfast was the usual but still good. The pool was so-so. I like heated pools to be a little warmer than this one was and you had to walk outside to get to it, rather chilly that evening. We noticed a party going on upstairs and in one of the rooms which is fine but the people were extremely noisy, running up and down the hallways, etc. That can't be helped necessarily but please people, be more considerate of others in the hotel when you are at parties. We would recommend this Days Inn.
Once again, while traveling down I-80 towards Denver, I decided to stop back at my favorite Hotel when I'm on the road. When I walked in to the Lobby I discovered even more upgrades than when I was here last. There is new carpeting throughout the the first floor and some more new amenities in the rooms. As for my favorite restaurant "Diamond Lils" , I stopped in and had the grilled Ribeye Steak again. In my book there is none better!! After a great nights sleep in a very comfortable bed, I decided to try the continental breakfast. I was not disappointed. Large variety of hot and cold items, and plenty of room to sit I hit the road again and will make sure to stop back by when in the area,
