Carnival World Buffet
3700 W Flamingo Rd(702) 777-7777
Las Vegas, NV 89103 -
One of the best buffets in Vegas - Reasonable price
We were going to try the Wynn, but it was way too expensive so we went for our second choice. Was that ever a good decision. We managed to get to the buffet at a slower time. Our waiter was nice, attentive and filled our champagne glasses when he noticed them empty. I started with the Dim Sum. The duck was so tasty and the shrimp har gow dumpling were fresh and perfect. The prime rib was melt in your mouth and there were rare slices aplenty as well as end cuts. I also spent a low of time with the snow crab and peel and eat shrimp. Since I only have one stomach, I did not try to Mexican or many of the traditional American dishes, but they all looked so very good. The desserts and pastries were fresh and perfect and they even had gelatto in six flavors. I will recommend this buffet to all my friends and I will definitely be back.

Don't Do It!!!
Primm Valley is now known as Terrible's Primm Valley Resorts. This review refers to the Green's Buffet only. Usually going to a buffet is just asking for trouble, but we have been to some very superior ones in Las Vegas. This is why I wasn't expecting much at stateline. We were however expecting the food to be edible. After being stuck behind the wost I-15 traffic I've ever seen we decided to stop after not having eaten all day. I asked my husband, "What could they possibly do to a salad?" He said. "I'm not sure, but I have never eaten a tough olive before." It went down hill from there. The menu included many things that I could not immediately identify. These were: Shrimp McNuggets?, fatty pork chops in a reddish sauce, turkey pucks in a yellowish sauce, hamburger shingles and spackle potatoes. The gravy scared me. There was also a macaroni and cheese that looked like a combination of cheap boxed and school mac & cheese that had been left out in the rain, reconstituted and left in the afternoon sun. I thought the cakes were dried out until I poked at the jello. It poked back.

Claim Jumper
820 W Huntington Dr(626) 359-0463

Best of everything!
I have never had a bad meal at any Claim Jumper. This one is no exception. The portions are unbelievable and the food is scrumptious. The fried chicken breast with potatoes, biscuits and gravy is to die for. The huge BBQ combo I split with my husband was heavenly. BBQ so good that you are gnawing the bones (sorry for the bad picture, but some will know what I mean). There is a wait, but it is well worth it. Go into the bar and have a beer from one of the largest lists I've ever seen. Get dessert even if you are bursting. They have to be seen to be beleived. Share it with the whole table. Trust me.

Go straight here for good Italian food
If you are tired of bad chain Italian eateries, go here next time. The food is incredibly good. Start out with a glass of wine and complimentary crusty bread dipped in olive oil. Form here go on to a fresh salad or flavorful soup. What comes next is a world of tasty pizza and succulent pastas. My favorite is diced sausage and eggplant over a huge bowl of pasta. There is as much thick sauce as there is perfect pasta. It's so rich that (almost against your will to stop)you must take most home and eat it for the next 2 days. the baked lasagna is habit forming. The veal piccata is the best I've ever had. I've never had room for dessert.

Fun and tasty
I love to pick out my own vegetables, meats and sauces. It's also fun to see how high some people stack their bowls. Your bowl will be quickly cooked and you go up as many times as you like. The service is great and friendly. They have beef, pork, lamb and turkey along with many vegetales like onions, bok choy, napa cabbage, brocolli, carrots, etc. There even have noodles now. You can make your dish as spicy or mild as you wish. There are bowls of ginger and garlic and chili paste along side many different sauces from spicy to salty to sweet/sour. My young daughter LOVES this place.

Wonderful for group lunches
Dumplings are perfectly tender thin skinned and juicy. It's so much fun to get a group and try everything. It always crowded, but we get seated pretty fast. I always get some funcooked dumplings to steam at home. I cannot get enough.

At the low end of Average
The decor made me think I was in for a treat. Boy, was I wrong. We got a chopped up salad swimming in dressing, a Dominoes quality pizza and some pretty bad wings. It was a wasted night out food wise.

Clearmans Galley

Always "The Boat"
The ship from Northwood's Inn is the place to go if you want Clearman's salad's and cheese bread, but in an even more relaxed, kickback, casual atmosphere. Get the salad, bread, chili burgers, huge beers and watch the game. It's perfect for a get together of old and new friends. Kids love this place too. This is the place to take the family and still feel like you had an adult night out (unless you have reall annoying children). There is plenty of video games and good times for all.
