Heritage Children's Academy

My son thrived at Heritage Children's Academy. He learned so many things both academically and socially, from a P/T student at 7 months to F/T as he grew older. The teachers have a great balance of being both fun-loving yet clear on expectations from the kids. This makes for great classroom management. They also model good citizenship by keeping the building clean & neat, even on snowy days & demonstrating how to give to those in need. We relocated summer 2014, but we've been back to visit 2X, just because my son misses Heritage so much. And, to top it all off, his friends, Mrs. Cara (the director) & all the teachers from the school mailed him a card for his 5th birthday almost a year after we left. What joy (and tears!) that brought my son. Mrs. Cara even included pictures of him in the grad DVD for the class of 2015 & sent us a copy. That speaks to the kind of warmth that is shown at Heritage. We are blessed - what peace of mind & joy Heritage has given our son & our family.

I am very impressed with the teachers at the academy. My daughter has been at 2 daycares over the last 3 years and I can't even compare the two. HCA is superb in their attention and structure for the children. I also appreciate the teacher parent interaction and the monthly calendars which allow me to follow and parallel the education my daughter is getting at school. I found them to be very interactive with me as well and discussing daily events or how my daughter was progressing. I would recommend HCA to anyone I know. Rich S.

Heritage Children's Academy is a wonderfully nurturing and educational school. I sent my daughter to three other schools before discovering Heritage. Cara, the director is kind and knowledgable and her staff are fabulous as well. My daughter graduated from the program and was one of only two students entering her kindergarten class who were reading. My son has also excelled with their child-centered program. Camp heritage is also a fun-filled adventure in the summer. Overall I highly recommend this school. It's the best!

I believe that Heritage Children's Academy provides a professional, nurturing and educational environment. I have been very pleased with the educational and extracurricular programs provided by Heritage and the resulting development of my children. The teachers, staff and director are always professional, personable, concerned and proactive with my children's care and development, and accommodating to the needs of my children. In addition, they provide me with beneficial feedback and suggestions to ensure that my children have a positive experience. As important as my experience as a parent, my children enjoy their time at Heritage and look forward to their time there.

Our experience at Heritage Children's Academy has been very positive. The administration and staff are incredibly accommodating and compassionate to each child's needs, no matter how small or specific. From food allergies, special learning needs, to a child's likes and dislikes, all aspects of their care is top notch. Their summer camp program was our children's favorite! The activities were creative and educational- not to mention incredibly entertaining for the kids. The kindergarten enrichment rounds out the half day town run public school program nicely. An "A+" program in our books!

I currently have two children enrolled at Heritage Children's Academy and have been enrolled for over three years, experiencing every stage from the infant room to kindergarten. I am both a parent and a teacher in the public school system, and I cannot say enough good things about Heritage. The director and the staff have always gone above and beyond to make sure that the children are happy, well cared for and receiving the best education possible. The director truly cares about each and every student and has gone out of her way to help our family as well as many other families at Heritage. Heritage is truly like a second family.

The care my child received was A+. I do agree 100% with the 1st review stating the director not being parent friendly, and only communicating with families when looking for money. She is not a people-person and had it not been for the other staff who made up for what the director lacks, I would've looked elsewhere for child care

I couldn't be happier with the staff at Heritage. I am a working mom, lucky enough to have my own mother be the caretaker of my children while I am at work. However, I decided to enroll my 3 year old at Heritage for the purpose of socialization, being part of a class, etc. He did not transition all that well, and did so with extreme separation anxiety. The staff at Heritage was so supportive of this, and recognized that he had different needs right away. His separation anxiety lasted close to the first two months of school, and I could not ask for a more patient and empathetic staff to work with him at school. He is now to the point where he is excited about going to school, and LOVES his teacher. He has come leaps and bounds socially and academically since September, and I couldn't ask for a better school experience for him. I also have to mention how giving the staff was to our family during Hurricane Sandy, offering freezer space and their washer/dryer. Great School!

We have been a part of the Heritage family since the day they opened. Our first son was 6 months old and started off in the infant room and was the 1st graduating class to complete the full trip through the school. When all is said and done, we will be with Heritage for almost 13 years (with no break). We cannot express gratitude enough to the staff at Heritage. They have done nothing but bend over backwards to accommodate our family (lots of kids and one with special needs). We consider them like family and our children had and are having a wonderful experience. Our children have adjusted very well to elementary school, in large part due to Heritage's curriculum and academic focus. We never hear "I dont want to go to school" from our kids. Heritage provides an environment with the right balance of caring and learning and we highly recommend it.

Comparing to the previous daycare our children attended, I am not thrilled and absolutely not "wow-ed", as this place is lacking in many respects, mainly academics, curriculum and teachers' qualifications, compared to our previous center, which unfortunately we had to leave due to the age restrictions of the facility. That being said, we also have not found anything great or much better in the area. Heritage is at par with the other centers around, and we are comfortable enough that they are getting good care there, however I did not see much progress in them since they started.

I wish I had found Heritage earlier. I feel I have lost a year in which my son in particular could have had the care and attention he needed in his development. After spending the summer in camp at heritage my little boy has developed in confidence in a way I could barely have hoped for. The staff know, like and are most importantly comfortable with kids which in turn seems to project a level of comfort in the kids. Everyone who knows my kids has commented on their development, confidence and happiness after a very successful and stress free summer. I can't thank the staff enough for their care, concern, interest and effort and would recommend Heritage to any parent looking for a safe, happy and comfortable place for their children to develop

Having worked in local daycares over the yrs, I know a good center when I see one. Heritage is beyond 'good', they are amazing. Our daughter began going to daycare at the age of 2 1/2, and we went thru 4 other centers before finding Heritage the summer of 2011. None of the other centers offered the total package that Heritage does. Most importantly we know our daughter is genuinely LOVED by the staff, she is greeted everday with joy. Beyond that, the facility is clean, safe & has everything (and more) that a child needs. Their curriculum is well structured and I saw my daughters progress immediately when she came home telling us about her day and things she learned with a huge smile. She is now 5 and getting Kindergarten ready at Heritage. Her teachers make learning fun, encourage creativity & take extra time to do 1on1 work with her as needed. They also offer elective classes (computers, dance,swim) that we take full advantage of & our daughter loves doing with her friends. A+

We highly recommend Heritage Academy. Our son is getting the best care and has also learned a lot from all of the teachers that he has had. Heritage has been very supportive of us as we have gone through a family health issue. We are very happy with our experiences with Heritage.

Heritage Children's Academy is one of the best things that ever happened to our family. My son was reading on a Second Grade level, in Kindergarten!!! And I attribute it all to the solid foundation he received at Heritage. Beyond that, they helped him develop a love and hunger for learning, which means more to me than anything.

We love Heritage Academy! They are so friendly and accommodating. I am a teacher and my husband works off hours so the school allows us to drop our daughter off a bit later and pick her up earlier. All of my daughter's teachers have been enthusiastic and caring.The families who are a part of Heritage all form a warm and loving community. We are very happy at Heritage Academy.

They have "best buddies" from Heritage even though they are now in Elementary School. Both of my kids attended Heritage, so we utilized the day care, pre-school, summer camp and the Kindergarten Enrichment program. The facilities are big, bright, clean and inviting. There's a huge indoor playroom that's an extra bonus for kids, especially on rainy days when they can't play outside. Extracurricular programs like dance, stretching, and computers are cool too. The teachers are passionate and caring, and the owner cares deeply about your children's safety, curriculum and their social development. It was an easy solution for managing our busy family work-life schedules.
