More suitable as a restaurant than specialty grocery. With advent of Trader Joe's coming to area, the "Whole Paycheck" sobriquet is more apt than ever. W F is overpriced competitor, offering competition only in fresh meat and fish area. The restaurant offers cafeteria service of foods and competes with venues such as the Irregardless Cafe, with respect to foodstuff offered. However, Whole Foods, sells by weight (i.e. at X$ per pound of food) so difficult to compare with organic restaurants. Generally, buying meat/fish as opposed to vegetable matter is cost efficient way at WF cafeteria. By the same token you get service in places like Irregardless. This "Whole Paycheck" location has very large section devoted to cosmetics and food supplements/additives. Has relatively small produce and grocery section. Located off inner Beltline eastward on Wade Avenue to first light at Ridge Road. Store is in Ridgewood Shopping Center on north side of Wade Avenue. Turn into Ridge Road to enter. If you miss this you can turn Left at next light going east and enter that way. Shopping center has: chain drug store; Quail Ridge book store; Bruegger's Bagels (cheaper place for good sandwich ); wine merchant; knitting and yarn store; cleaners; bank; bike store; and a few other businesses in an eclectic setting. Hoping this is helpful to you, good-luck, pjamesb

EarthFare has an incredible aromatherapy department-which includes not only a bountiful selection of natural skin and body products, but bulk herbs, teas, etc. from Frontier/Aura Cacia, Bach flower remedies, and an impressive selection of essential oils and essential oil blends from multiple leading companies, including Aura Cacia. They also have a respectable selection of exercise and relaxation tapes and dvds, bath and body accessories. The biggest surprise, however, are the GREAT and knowledgeable employees, who are ready, willing -- and able -- to answer questions and accommodate special needs, orders etc. The prices are not ridiculously marked up either, as one might expect of a specialty/natural store and, in fact, with regards to the above, they have the best prices around.
Anyone who seeks special and unique foods that they might have enjoyed while residing or spending time in Europe must at least stop into this fabulous little market store and check out what is available. OK, so "Caspian" reminds you of Russia or some exotic place in Asia (and they have lots of Russian specialties), but I was seeking some German food that I enjoyed in northern Germany. Guess what? Matjes Herring and Bismarck Herring were on the shelf items! I saw foods from Scandinavia, western Europe, Slavic countries, Arabic nations, etc. The place is not pristine, but the prices are reasonable.
