I literally JUST got home from my hair appointment with Joey and absolutely had to jump on and give a review. If you have not been here, I seriously urge you to make an appointment. I'd never been here before, and only went because of a Gift Certificate I had. Needless to say, They will see me again and again! Not only is it in a great location, but the service and attention to detail was on point, and the skill of the stylists were remarkable, and they are proficient in ALL types of hair (which I was initially worried about). I told Joey that I didn't really know what I wanted but didn't want it too short and just something that fits my face. I was watching him, but I still don't know how he did what he did. I even compared Joey to Edward Scissorhands, because he was like an artist with my hair. End Result - My hair has never looked better! I actually left feeling beautiful :D
First things first - Whitney is AMAZING! Very few people can cut my weird curly\\/wavy/frizzy long hair and not leave me in tears. Her personality is awesome and I look forward to our appointments - never thought I'd say that about getting my hair done! Usually I have to force myself to do the maintenance because I'm so afraid of how my hair will turn out! But Whitney knows exactly the length to cut and is a true artist with the gloss/glaze which is important now that I'm turning into a gray-haired old lady. I followed her from her previous salon and any place that has her is a lucky one. Speaking of the salon itself - I love the serene atmosphere, the friendly staff and convenient location. It's just a cool little place with a spa-like vibe. I can't stand salons that seem chaotic and rushed. Bacio is never a factory, they make you feel like you're their only client.
I got cornrows in my hair on 4/30/09 by Atis (owner). She was very nice. She braids very very tight, so hold down your edges. Her business is clean, or at least it appears that way. I didn't see any bugs crawling on the floor, so that was nice. She speaks excellent English, but the other girl who worked in the shop did not. There are currently on two girls working there, so don't go expecting to see a lot of staff, but that is the way Atis likes it. The shop is set up for at least 8 work stations. Atis didn't ask me what color braiding hair I wanted, she only assumed that I wanted the same color as my hair. I didn't say anything about it, but usually I do get a mixed color. No big deal this time, because I wanted to see how I would look with my natural hair color. I would most likely come back to this business to get my hair done.
