Overall
Worst place ever

The red lion inn is one of the worst places ever. I have lived above the restaurant in the rooms upstairs and I have eaten there once and that will be the last time. We waited for over ten minutes for our drinks to come and when they did they messed the order up and then we waited for over an hour for our food to get there. When it came the plates where so hot and the food wasn't even the greatest. When we were leaving the owner Jan saw us and screamed at us telling us we owed her $100 yet for our rent even though we moved out a half a month before going to eat there. She followed us out to the parking lot and stood in front of our truck telling us we couldn't leave till she got her d*mn money. We could tell she was drunk because she couldn't even stand up straight and her words were slurred. When it came to living in the rooms upstairs it was the worst. You have to walk up the fire escapes to get upstairs and she charges everyone there a different amount of rent. She charges an extra $100 just to have an air conditioner in the room. She told us she does not allow smoking upstairs so my boyfriend would go outside to smoke but the night we decided would be our last we found a bed bug in our room and when we informed her about it she came up cursing us out and telling us we brought it in and then yelled at my boyfriend about smoking in the room when he was not all because his cigerates were on the dresser. The day we were moving our stuff out she walked into our room while we were packing and asked for our keys which had the swipes to get back into the door downstairs to come back up. I had to sit outside with the door cracked up just so we could get our stuff out. When we finished we found a silver fish in the room and a bunch of tiny red ants. Earlier that week she had yelled at the old man across the hall from us and told him he had to be out that Sunday or she would put a dead bolt on his door even though he had already paid for the month of September and this was the end of August. I will never recommend this place to anyone and I will never go back there. The owner is a drunk and very nasty women. This is not how a owner of a business should act.

HORRID!!!!

WORST PLACE EVER!

The experence there was a slightly better than running my own hand over with a big mac truck. First of all while walking in, we watched a lady park in a handicap spot, whom was not handicap, with her dog, unleashed, & the take her dog INTO the catering hall. The lady of which I speak turned out to be the owner. We then waited almost an hour for our food, watching 3 other tables get starters, entrees & paying, before our food even arrived at our table. The food was decent, don't get me wrong, that was NOT the problem. When the food finally got to the table the plates were SO hot the pickles & leaf garnish were cooked completely through. The knife on my sisters plate was so hot it burned her finger when she went to pick it up, leaving a blister. We asked to speak to a manager & to our surprise there was none on site. Instead we got to speak to the owner, Jan. Who was just the biggest ray of sunshine I have ever met. (SARCASM) Upon trying to just inform her about how her restaurant was being run she persisted to scream at us infront of everyone in the place. She then offered to comp our meal, although my $100 back would be nice, it was not the point we were trying to make. All we really wanted to do was inform her of what was happening. She then called my uncle a dumb*ss, while her hostess rolled her eyes at us. She honestly did not care at all about the fact that we had a bad experence. My uncle, whom has managed a restaurant in NYC for over 20 yrs, was simply just to inform her of our experience. Of course, it turned into a large yelling match, where drunk "loyals" at the bar are yelling at us to get out, while we are sitting there being screamed at by Jan At this point we are just done & leave, but not before I say to those drunk '"loyals" that this was not us trying to complain & it had nothing to do with them, so they should just leave us be. The bus-boy then persists to yell at me to "get the h*ll out", while I was trying to walk out the door, he pushed me & slammed the door in my face.

I dont know about anyone else, but thats not "Excellent service" in my eyes. After leaving, Jan chased after us in the parking lot, continuing to yell at us. Anyone who thinks this place is anything above one star, should really have something tiny go wrong & ask to speak to Jan, to see what kind of attitude you get.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is that if you go to McCoole's Red Lion Inn & have any issue about your food, service or just have some constructive critisism, you're better off screaming your complaint to a deaf man, because Jan does not care about you or your experience, just how high your credit limit on your credit card is.

McCoole's Red Lion Inn is a favorite of our family. The atmosphere is exciting and fun, their entertainment is really enjoyable, and the menu so varied it has something for all our friends & family to enjoy. We love to gather there for a great time! They also have the best bar manager we know in the Quakertown area!
