The building owners are the O'Callaghans and not the Clarks, who wereonly tenants and ran the hall rental business for a little over a yearstarting August, 2011. The O'Callaghans have a reputation as topnotch, great to deal with, and have owned the building sinceacquisition in 2000. The renovation of this beautifulhistoric building (originally built in 1887) was completed by the building owners in 2008.Clarks are no longer involved with the Albany Event Center and it'shall rental business. The O'Callaghans aim to please, and havecontinued with the hall rental business and the handling ofbookings/events since the tenants vacated (weddings, receptions, parties, etc.)

DO NOT USE THIS HALL.Our experience was similar to the rest here. We canceled at least 5-3/4 months in advance, his policy is to not return the deposit if within 6 months, which I am fine with. However, we had paid in full in advance and this rude Mr. Clark would not return anything. Very unfair business practices, you'll be sorry if you do business with these people. Not worthy of even 1 star, and considering small claims court.

Unable to understand previous reviews. Mr & Mrs. Clark have shown nothing but kindness and understanding. For what is provided and the setting if you went elsewhere you would be at $10,000.00 or more. There are schedules to keep so each wedding is started on time, Flowers and arrangements are provided etc. If you feel like you don't get your monies worth then your perceptions are wrong. As for Mr. Clark being rude, it is possible that he had a bad day he is a pillar of the community, owns several thriving businesses in the area and things from time to time must get to him as for follow through no question it happens and if you were charged more than contract then evidently you requested more than what was in your contract. All in all we find the Albany to be a beautiful historic part of the city and that the Clarks are providing in these economic times a bargain for those wishing to be married in a beautiful historic building and making wonderful memories to last a lifetime.

This place very nice but in need of new owners. Must be careful when discussing plans and options. Must make sure they follow through with evrything at time of payment cause changes wil occur last minute on their terms.. Remember it's your special day and don't let Mr and Mrs Clark ruin it for you!!

That place was nice but the so called owner was rude and from what we saw the night of our friends wedding he was rude to caterers, photographer all the guests and even the wedding party after everyone helped set up tables for reception, cleaned whole place he still was ungrateful and our friends didn't even get their 200 dollar deposit. His wife even dropped the ball on decorations my friends on there wedding day had to decorate the place cause owners didn't follow through with anything they said they would do at time of contract.. Owners got their money and didn't care about anything else.. Didn't even give back deposit or thank the guest who helped set up tables or clean . Would NOT recommend this place.. So called owner and wife play a goooood role at beginning but blow a lot of smoke!! Not even the one start but I couldnt get rid of it
