*Unsympathetic Nightmare - Regarding Saleswoman Patti (Patricia French/699*W*) - Resolved I have been temporarily in Pueblo, CO for the past few weeks on rotation with a hospital in town. I needed to have my transmission fluid changed, so I called Spradley Ford Lincoln Service Department and originally spoke with Patti on Monday 09/14/2015 for my Mitsubishi Lancer GTS where I mentioned that this version requires special CVT fluid. Patti mentioned that they would be able to schedule me the next day and after I asked, she mentioned it would be a complete total of $195.95. 09/15/2015 – The Initial Appointment I met with Patti and she instructed a worker to collect information from me and take my keys outside. I then go back inside and speak with Patti about how long she thought the service would take. She mentioned it would take an hour and a half (which was until closing). 15 minutes until 6 PM I went to the counter and asked about my vehicle and was informed that they were out of the fluid. I asked why I was not informed earlier, but Patti is very pushy and told me the best they could do is the same time the next day and Andy would bring the car around the front. I thought it odd that when I mentioned time is important as I work long shifts and I am taking time off to get this service done. Patti seemed unaffected. I was bothered at this point based on the lack of explanation it looked like I had to come back tomorrow, regardless. 09/16/2015 – The Next Appointment I spoke to Patti in the office and she seemed frustrated and irritated. I thought to myself, “Yes, I am back again to get the service done for the second time.” I obviously could tell she simply did not want to deal with me and my “problem” service. After ignoring me for 10 minutes, she eventually spoke to me out of “courtesy.” I kept calm and asked her if she was able to get the correct fluid. She agreed and one of the servicemen helped by collecting my keys for the second time. I went back to the counter with about 5 minutes until closing and inquired about my vehicle. Patti calculated the costs and before giving me the cost, she stated “wow this price is much cheaper than most people get this for.” I asked about it and then she said a total of “$239.40.” I immediately thought how it could be that much and told her that this could not be right and asked how she got to the total. She sighed and explained swiftly that this was the cost of the labor hours and the cost of the actual fluid. I told her about the total she gave me over the phone and she simply repeated the total cost by stating, “well this is the cost now with labor.” I knew something was not adding up, but it was such a long day already that I did not want to debate charges. As the transaction proceeded, she gave me a card of “Owner Advantage Rewards” in which she said, “I made $10 off of this service, wow!” and that I can use it for an oil change here at the shop. I was immediately offended based on our original conversation where I clearly stated that I was in Pueblo temporarily. She did not seem to listen to that or the fact where I said that my vehicle requires special CVT fluid upon initial communication. *Shortened, but please read the BBB complaint. **Dealer made right in promise to reimburse amount difference between what was quoted and amount paid, and Patti was retrained.
My 2003 Mazda 6 took a dump on me while I was heading down to Albaquerque, NM to pick up my little nephew Gaudalupe. The break down occurred in a little town aptley named Pueblo, CO, I had only heard rumors of the swine that came out this not so well known City ( SH_THOLE ). Anyhow, I must thank my lucky stars that my car did break down here for a couple of different reasons. 1) I Had just come into Pueblo on I-25 Southbound, I was about less then 3 and a half hours or so from my destination when my engine started making some very unnerving noises and then "BOOM" - something in the engine just popped. There was a plethora of smoke billowing from out under the hood, so I immediately exited off the next available exit ( Elizabeth ), I was able to get my vehicle over to the parking lot of K-Mart. I then got out and called my sister Ernesta ( Gaudalupes' mother ) to let her know what was happening, She said to be really careful down in Pueblo and to keep her updated. After I spoke with Ernesta; I then had a cigarette to calm my nerves, Whilst I was smoking there was two skateboarders attempting tricks on the curb at K-mart. They saw that I was in a bit of a jam & came over to offer me some assistance. I believe their names were Clint & Leroy. These two guys new even less then I did about cars, But I was fortunate enough to have them help. They told me that they had a buddy who ran his own business fixing vehicles, they gave the guys phone number and went back to skating the curbs. They seemed to be beginners at skateboarding, because they could barely push off without losing their balance, but they were having fun none the less. 2) So I called this mechanic friend of theirs and he was real polite and asked me to wait at K-mart until he arrived. He showed up about 20 minutes later. He was a real dirty looking guy, but he came off as a real personable guy. He inspected the vehicle and made a rather quick assessment, he had his skateboard friends tow my car to his garage. Bryan ( The Mechanic ) said that he would have to get a part in the morning, then I would be on my way. I then got a hotel room for the night at the Clarion ( worst service ever ), woke up and called Bryan, he came & picked me up. I went with him to get the part, then back to his garage to install the part. He was beyond a shadow of doubt the best mechanic I ever did business with. Long story short, Pueblo, Colorado people are not all that bad. I would definitley recommend his service to anyone. I was then on my way to pick up little Gaudalupe to get him back to Denver for his heart transplant. Thanks again De Butts' Automotive.
I always hate when something goes wrong with one of my cars, no matter how minor it is i just dread going to an auto shop. Couple of reasons are well one im a girl, i think mechanics look to screw people over especilly woman. Some people quote outragious prices, others are rude and act like your stupid because you dont understand auto lingo. I know this from experence, im 26 and have had seven vehicles. Parts go bad, accidents happen and trust me you dont want ot get stuck with a jerk whos gonna screw you over, and over charge you, ive been there way to many times. So as i go through the yellow pages im very picky, if you yell something in the phone i cant even understand i hang up, if your price sounds way to high i dont call back. Finally i got to Blazin Blue Auto, this guy was really nice and he gives free estimates which after about seventeen phone calls hes the only one who offered a free estimate. I even called this one place who wanted to charge me sixty bucks just to look at it! So trust me people it pays to shop around. I was so excited after i go my car back, my window worked like perfect, i payed an extreamly reasonable price, the job was done fast, and Anthony Stankiewicz "The GM Man" was nice, honist and smart. I am so glad i actually have a place to take my car next time something happens, and i wont be worried or stressed about who im dealing with. Blazin Blue Auto is the place to go, you wont be dissappointed! i know where im going for now on, so glad i finally found a place to take my car, this is hard to come by people!
