Trieste is hands down the best Italian restaurant in the Philly region and beyond. You just can't find quality like this anywhere else for the price. What restaurant outside of Little Italy in NY makes ALL of its pasta fresh? That includes the wrappers for the baked dishes and the layers in the lasagna, the spaghetti, linguini, etc. And, the red sauce will bring you back to being a kid again, with your Italian Grandma (or in my case, Grandpa) cooking in the kitchen. If you close your eyes, you will be taken right back to that childhood place, with all of the rich, multi-layered flavors of sauce being cooked all day long on a Sunday with multiple kinds of meats. One of the best features of Trieste is that they serve braciole!!! Name one other Italian restaurant where you can get this served over homemade spaghetti. You can't! The last time I had this dish, it was in my Italian grandmother's kitchen. Now, let's talk about the prices. Hello, $13.95 for several pounds of homemade pasta topped with spicy sausage, meatball, and braciole?!?! Amazing!!! Almost crazy, really, considering you'd pay that much or more than that even, for some crappy buffet elsewhere where the food is all pre-prepared and has been frozen previously. This is fresh, piping hot, homemade, outstanding food for rock-bottom prices. Another great feature is that from soup to nuts, absolutely everything is fresh and delicious, right down to the coffee and desserts. Delicious wine, too, and priced super reasonably. ($5 for a glass of Lumbrusco!) My only regret is that I've lived in Delco most of my life and I just discovered this place tonight. I actually feel depressed that I've wasted one second of my life eating Italian food elsewhere. Thank you, Trieste for an amazing dining experience! I can't wait to return!!!

I have coming to Trieste now for 25 years. This place is very family friendly. The service is the BEST from the moment you walk in. Everyone is friendly and all the servers help you out. The menu hasn't changed much over the last couple of years, but that is what makes it Trieste. I could go on and on about the food, but I will give you some highlights. Start with the escarole soup. (They also have spicy red crab.) I love the stuffed mushroom appetizer (and the shrimp lejon are a close second.) As to the main selection, I would suggest the filet minon or the veal parm. (They are both my favorite.) Desserts, there are many, my favorite would be the peanut butter pie or the lemon truffles. There is nothing that I can say bad about this place. Reasonable prices and great atmosphere.

All I can say is WOW!! The lasagna is to die for. It's just like my friend's Italian grandmom used to make. The atmosphere is causal but can quiet and can be a great atmosphere for an intimate dinner for two or a great place to take the kids (I take my 3 year old nephew monthly). The selections are vast and all of the dishes are homemade at this family owned establishment. Although I usually get the Lasagna, everything is ""molto buone"". A MUST try if you like Italian cusine at VERY reasonable prices.
