It is what it is. A local theater without a lot of glitz but a good value. You can get a large fresh popped popcorn and a two large cokes (enough for four people if you can share a drink with your wife and one for the kids) for only nine bucks. If you go to an early show it's only five dollars to get in so a family of four could go to the movies, have popcorn and drinks for under $30. You are looking at $50 at a Cinemax or Century. It's clean and I've never had any of the problems described in the first review other than they don't take plastic. There is an ATM right inside the door so I don't really see this as an issue. Picture and sound quality is good. So if you want a good value, plenty of parking right at the door and a decent snackbar you can't go wrong

The Hollywood Theatre is one of the best places in Portland and the northwest! It helps preserve the essence of film. An old theatre, in an old Portland neighborhood: a great combination for a terrific adventure.
This is a nice picture show to go too. Clean, legs room, respectful employees, also provide headphone for hearing impaired for people that wear hearing aids. I wish every movies will provide close captaion.
