We called ahead of time and reserved a table for 2. I had my brother in town and wanted to take him somewhere special. He had just landed and been on a long flight from over seas. SO being exhausted and thinking this would be the perfect place. In all our years of dining this was a NIGHTMARE! We arrived at the restaurant literally 10 late. The hostess told me that she didn't see our reservation. When I explained the ... view moreLike this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch

I had the pleasure of dining at Masu in Portland while on a business trip. The food and service was absoutely outstanding! I will be dreaming of the ""Death by Sushi Roll"" when I get back home to the East Coast. Thank you to Rory for being an awesome server - and if you ever see this, you were totally dreamy! For those who care, it was a bit pricey, but was worth every penny!Like this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch
I used to love this place and after over a year hiatus, stopped by for dinner last night. Everything was great except the Spanish mackerel that I ordered as an appetizer. Things happen; I know that, meaning that when the appetizer arrived after the dinner was served, I was ok with that. But when the owner Maria, tries to lie about why it took so long, that isn’t ok. Having ordered this appetizer many times before, th... view moreLike this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch

nothing was platted correctly. one salad came, then an entre. we had ordered an appetizer that finally came at the end of the meal and the 2nd persons salad came with a third entre. Server never asked if we wanted a 2nd cocktail. recommend you dont put an appetizer on the menu that takes a long time to prepare.Like this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch
While in Portland for the weekend, we decided to check out Masu based on reviews at citysearch. The prices were about average for this type of sushi place, the sushi itself was average at best. The service was fine; I don't think we had the same person at our table more than once, not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing but they were all friendly (one woman even went to her co-workers to come up with some rec... view moreLike this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch
Masu is a great place for some very amazing sushi! I was at the sushi bar with my brother and we both decided before hand that we didn't want to spend to much money and to try and keep it cheap, knowing sushi is always expensive, and masu isn't exactly a family style old school japanese 50% off kinda place. It's hip and funky with alot of style right downtown, it's more along the lines of a place to be seen. So we s... view moreLike this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch
I came in with a group of friends and sat in their lounge area, I have to say that the atmosphere at Masu is nice. The server was nice and kept checking in on us to make sure, if we needed anything - though..I\r feel like I need to apologize for my friend's behavior.. she was a bit out of line.\r (it was kinda embarrassing...) There was a bit of confusion regarding our bill, and I feel, that she tried her best to g... view moreLike this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch
