I discovered Peets coffee shortly after the disappointment of finding out that my longtime favorite spot Seattles Best had been taken over by Starbucks. Needless to say, not a fan!! As a student I was grabbing a few cups a day from the Downtown location...Good people...A sincere appreciation for their customers...And a latte made to perfection. I even had the pleasure of meeting the founder one day who asked my name with a warm smile and a genuine offering of a hand shake. Of course, this is when Peets was known for its coffee and not it's name and you had to find a location. That's all changing now!! Just like Starbucks Peets finds u, u don't find Peets, and when this happens your no longer a face, you become a number. I like Peets coffee...Let's keep it personal okay!!
I define a good neighborhood place as a place where people meet each other, where it's comfortable, a little funky and where the coffee is outstanding! The french press is lovely. If you're feeling brave, try the lavendar or ginger lemonade: some of the best in town.
