Response from Advanced Marine Service to Dana W. review: The customer brought his 32' Bayliner into our shop on November 15, 2014. The boat had been moored in salt water for several years. Very little maintenance had ever been performed and the boat was covered in barnacles. At the time the boat was brought into our shop, the customer requested storage. The requested service was completed as follows: We got both motors running, completed hydraulic repair and re-built the carburetor. Then the boat was winterized (at no charge). After the repairs were completed, the customer decided to replace the starboard engine. He purchased an engine himself and had it delivered to our shop. At this time our Spring surge of business was taking place. It was communicated to Dana at that time that this was our busiest time of the year and we would have to fit the engine install into our service schedule. We had constant communication with Dana. The customer removed the boat on July 11, 2015. He had the option to remove the boat at any time prior to that date. We were of the understanding that we had a good rapport with Dana.
Recently, I took my Grand Banks that I had inherited from my dad into Schooner Creek. It had been sitting outside for a long, long time. After the survey, my laundry list was huge! If my Dad had not have loved that thing so much, I may have just sold it. Overwhelmed by the amount of work that needed to be done, I sat down with Mike and Steve, and came up with a game plan. A year and a half to restore her! Wow! But, affordable. I made monthly payments and helped out with the work. (hint: you can save on labor by sweating a little! lol I lost 15 lbs in the process too!) But now that it's all done, you can't even believe this was the same boat! These guys were amazing to work with, very understanding, and really taught me that owning a boat takes pride and hard work. Thank you Schooner, I'll see you next year for my bottom paint!
I've used Cook Engine to service both my boats for the last 7 years and Jeff and his crew have always been extremely thero with their service work. They also bring items to my attention that I wouldn't have normally noticed saving me money in the long term and possibly a ruined weekend or getting stranded at sea. There bills have always been fair and I can't say enough good about the services they provide.
