The Port Arthur Fire Department provides a range of fire suppression and prevention services for more than 57,000 citizens. It operates various fire stations and offers emergency management solutions. The department also provides medical assistance, water rescue and hazardous material response services. The Port Arthur Fire Department offers fire code enforcement, arson investigation and public education solutions. In addition, it operates administration, suppression, training, prevention, communications and maintenance divisions. The department has a staff of over 100 individuals. The Port Arthur Fire Department is registered by the Texas Department of Health. Its fire prevention bureau distributes smoke detectors to low-income residents.
