Hayes Equipment

Took my Briggs&Stratton 8 horse engine in for a valve job, had no compression with no way to grind valves. Picked it up, paid bill, noticed notation for "test unit". Was told mechanic said engine was idling at 'way too high rate, so had to adjust governor. First, engine had NO oil or gas in it which was noted on work order, and when I picked it up had none still,nor any signs of having any added to "test". Took it home, mounted on mower, unit idled at 'way too high RPMs. called Hayes, was told the mechanic did all this, when asked about running properly and only needing a valve job, was told finally the mechanic did not run engine, "couldn't get bolts in, so adjusted governor". Final call, mechanic was trying to pad time, was not qualified to do the work, and all concerned backed him, told me I was wrong. Maybe they can work on stickhorses, don't trust them for a real motor.
