Excellent amenities with great service and open 24 hours. Sales staff made me feel comfortable and weren’t pushy at all. They offer multiple membership options to fit every need. Each membership provides you with free personal training sessions to make you feel comfortable with the equipment. Floor trainers walk around to assist those who have questions. Great place to join if you never belonged to a health club because they will provide you with all the tools to succeed. Joining Spa 23 is the best decision I made in years.

I've been an on and off member at Spa 23 for some time. I travel many months of the year and the Spa graciously "freezes" my membership each time I,m away. Often when I return I find new programs and offerings to take advantage of. The Spa continues to provide lots of options and the newest ways to promote physical wellness. Theres something here for everyone!

I have been coming to Spa 23 for over four years. I started to workout here after my twin girls were born. My primary concern about finding a good gym was one that had a daycare center with reasonable rates and with a staff that I could trust while I worked out. I found that in Spa 23. The daycare director and staff have been extremely caring and nurturing with my children. My girls have pretty much grown up loving to go to the gym daycare while Mommy works out. I primarily use the pool and love it. I never have a hard time getting a lane and the facility is very clean. I also use the weight center which I never find to be overcrowded. Spa 23 is well worth the monthly membership for what it offers. c.m.

Great health club with so much to do. So many classes to choose from you’ll never get bored. Instructors are great, trainers are always helpful, and staff is extremely friendly. Club is always clean and well maintained. Broken equipment gets fixed immediately and management is always present to resolve any issue. I highly recommend this place to all my friends and family.

I have been a member of Spa 23 for over a year now and think It’s one of the best equipped gyms in North Jersey. They have exceptional staff, very friendly and well trained, great equipment, pool, massage center and a great selection of classes. Additionally, my two year old loves the day care!

I would strongly recommend Spa 23 to anyone in the area.

Overall
Spa 23 is a full service gym w...

Spa 23 is a full service gym with many programs geared towards families. My children take swim classes here and they really enjoy it. My only problem and probably the most important factor in giving a 2 star rating is it's poor customer service.

When my kids first took swim classes here, I was told by front desk to go up stairs and have them change their clothes. So naturally I entered the ladies locker with my 4 year old kids. An employee who was in the ladies locker started talking down to me and told me no kids were allowed in the ladies locker. "did you read the sign at the door?" they employee starts to yell. Clearly I missed the sign but is this the type of impression and experience they want me to have as a first time customer in their facility? Well, I finally figured out that there was a children's changing facility. Unfortunately if your small child has to go the bathroom in the middle of changing they have to walk all the way down to the 1st floor back hallway to go to the bathroom and walk up two flights of stairs to finish changing their clothes. Why? because no kids are allowed in the 2nd floor lockers. Who's the operations manager that designed that flow? Clearly that person didn't have children.

Signing up for swim classes wasn't smooth either. I was told by the head of the swim program my 2nd child gets a 40% discount. Membership told me they never heard of such thing because they don't have ANY discounts for siblings. That took a while to iron out but leaving me with yet another bad experience.

The following year, I decided to sign up for membership since my first child can take swim classes for free and it's cheaper to sign up for membership than pay for swim classes individually. What I didn't expect was to sit in the membership office for over an hour. The computer was slow, then the computer didn't recognize the entry, they didn't have the right swim class schedule, etc. OMG, the right hand never knows what the left had is doing. Absolutely a miserable experience yet again.

One of my kids swim instructor recommended we attend family swim sessions held Sat and Sun from 3-5:30 for $5 per person. When I came in for family siwm the first time, I was told since I am a member I didn't need to pay the $5 but the hours were from 4-5:30. Then the following week, I was told I needed to pay $5 per person. Then yet another week later I was told children are $5 and adults are $12 per person. Then a week later, I was am told I need to sign up for family swim at membership before I pay. When I asked why, I was dismissed by the front desk person as she took another customer. So I went to membership and they had me sign a liability form for each child. Clearly this was a new process but why couldn't the front desk just explain that there is a new process and kindly explain the situation versus give me an attitude? Clearly not the type of customer service you would expect from a so called 5-star facility.

Then at today's family swim my husband came along to watch the kids play. One of my kids almost drowned as the life guard just sat there. So my husband decided to stand inside the pool by the ledge to help the kids when they needed him. That's when the lifeguard walks by and says if he wants to stand inside the pool, he has to pay $12. I'm thinking to myself why does he have to pay to do your job? Clearly following the rules is much for important than customer service. Membership does not have privileges here.

The only reason I continue to go here is because my kids have been taking swim lessons for a while now, and they love their teachers. If it wasn't for their children swim program and the great teachers I would not have put up with all this nonsense.

I'm hoping they will listent to customer feedback and upgrade their customer service soon!
