Let me start off by saying I am a new York native that's been in search of a half way decent Italian restaurant since I first arrived in Florida.. I've been sadly disappointed at the restaurants in the broward county area and then I landed myself in the pompano Citi centre mall for a day of shopping when I stumbled upon a cozy Italian restaurant called Amato's. The decor is very warm and inviting and the music was simply delightful! I'm a huge Sinatra fan and they were playing some of his best! I was promptly greeted by an extremely friendly server & she made me feel at home! I started off with their home made pasta fagioli and some of the freshest rolls I've ever tasted- They literally melted in my mouth! The menu had everything you could ever imagine- but I decided to keep it simple with a penne ala vodka & of course I had to try a slice of their pizza. The slice was honestly the closest I've had to a NYC pie since I've been in Florida.. Thin and crispy with a soft chewy crust.. It was to die for! Then came the penne ala vodka and it was equally as impressive.. It was very obvious they use only Fresh ingredients and the pasta was cooked perfectly.. Al dente. I was even visited by the owner herself which showed me they really care about their customers.. Needless to say this is my new favorite Italian restaurant and I will be back again!
We have only enjoyed eating at Forketta twice so far. First time just the 2 of us, suggested by our friends at Palm Aire United. We had terrific authentic Italian food served by Italians. An absolutely wonderful experience. Today we had family visiting from out of town and asked for a reservation for 9. They called and confirmed mid day and the table was ready and accommodated the late addition. 10 of us walked out wonderfully fed, including pre-teen, 3 teens, and 6 post teens. I am a load it up with garlic pepper etc person and did not touch a shaker because the sauces were perfect. The pasta tomato sauce tasted like real tomatoes. 10 people walked out happily satiated by Delicious authentic Italian food. Try the Proseco or Chardonay! Enjoy Gene & Marcia
Happytrails5 does not sound very happy. I really don't know what place he/she is talking about. I have eaten at Marola's at least 12-14 times in the last 3 years or so. The food is always great. The service is always excellent. The prices, although not cheap, are very reasonable considering the quality of the food and the service. I have recommended this restaurant to many people and I have never heard of anyone not satisfied.
