I have visited this Lidia's three times. Once with a group of 15, once with two others and once there were just two of us. The food was excellent every time. I think with the groups I had a better time as we made our own entertainment. The waiters seem too busy to interact everytime I have been there. In such a historical setting with the art galleries all around it would be nice to talk to the waiters and find out what they know about the area. I felt the wait to get the check was too long each time again as if the wait staff was overloaded. The pasta is always very fresh and the sauces are simple and not overpowering. The desserts are very good also.
I would have to say it's changed a little bit since the new resturant in river side has opened. The bartender on monday nights really needs some more experience on the top shelf , and gold margaritas they were not too great. The food is excellent , the fish tacos are amazing.. There is a server we have had a few times we've been in i think his name is nick a short dude. However he is very polite and pretty snappy when it comes to service.
I went to Jardine's for entertainment, there was a local artist I wanted to see, but I noticed another person having this great looking steak so I ordered one, too. Let me tell you it was one of the best steaks I have ever had, and I have had some really great steaks in some very fine restaurants. For my money, Jardine's is a great deal, what with the world class Jazz musicians and the great food, it can't be beat.
