Basswood Country Inn Resort

I give this place a four star review. Everything about the resort is good except for the cable. They advertise cable connection. Wrong. They have it and it tries to connect but never gets there or it gets there but only two channels and they are so fuzzy they might as well not be there. Otherwise than that good place.

Basswood is the best RV park in the KC area... I lived there for over a year... it's beautiful, they have cabins, a lodge, a country store, four lakes, and fantastic RV sites that have something to offer everybody...and there's something going on every weekend.



I didn't have any problems except the normal people problems you sometimes get when people party hearty or think they're better than someone else. No worries... they're going to be gone in the morning anyway!

VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!! I just called to book a weekend stay in one of the B&B rooms, asked if I could see the room or get a tour of rooms, and was told by the very unfriendly person answering that they do not allow you to see the rooms before your stay. What are you hiding? Even the Best Western will give anyone a tour of the accommodations. Very disappointing because the location is very convenient and I could see my family using the B&B for weekend getaways frequently. Well, I guess we will be looking for another location!

Don't go! I had been a repeat customer for at least 5 years and have even brought friends who rented cabins. I was a nice quiet quaint place. But we rented a cabin and apparently a bunch of people who all knew each other rented most of the other cabins and PARTIED all night, meaning they partied outside, music BLASTING, loud yelling and hollaring, drunk, belligerent. I had already called management about the parking issue (people who didn't belong there after 10pm were taking up what few parking spots there were, as the party guests invited friends over who were not staying) and I was told "what do you expect me to do about it? I just suggest you try and find somewhere to park" so it was obvious they weren't too interested in following their own policies and towing people's vehicles. Why they have a sign up saying they will is beyond me because they won't. Apparently someone from management did make it down to look at the parking issue, saw we had squeezed our car in somewhere and left, in the midst of all that noise. Even if the man was deaf, he would still have noticed because they party people were all outside AND the lady in the cabin across from us who weren't with the party people, she said she has a deaf ear and HAD to sleep on her good ear to get some sleep but she could still FEEL the noise! At one point a vehicle full of people come through the resort with must blasting a 'THUMP THUMP, THUMP THUMP' beat, I actually at first thought someone was pounding on the door to our cabin, but no, it was music from a vehicle that pulled up to one of the party cabins. The police even showed up! We used to LOVE this place. But considering the fact they didn't want to do anything about the noise (maybe becoming more of a party resort will bring in more money???) we will not be coming back. They are horrible of enforcing their own policies. I am shocked at how we, as repeat customers, were treated while the party people weren't even dealt with. HORRENDOUS.

After many years of having our family reunions at a location in town we decided we wanted to be more out in the country. Many days and months of looking for the 'perfect' location lead us to Basswood Resort. We soon realized we made the perfect choice!

It's difficult to try to organize a reunion for almost 50 people with all age groups. The Basswood staff was a great help during our planning process. We stayed for 4 days, in Cabins overlooking the fishing lakes to the amazing Lakeside Loge. One family arrived a little later and stayed in one of the motel rooms. All of the lodging was outstanding and very clean.

We had our breakfast catered in their clubhouse each morning and were very pleased. We could sit and enjoy each other while their staff fed us wonderful breakfast. In the evenings we had dinner catered in the hall which overlooks the lake. Not only was the view enjoyable, the food was excellent. It was so nice to be able to have our reunion and not have to worry about major meals. It gave us more time to spend with our family.

The accommodations were very cozy and clean. All the fishermen in our group had fun fishing in the many lakes. The country atmosphere was perfect. We were close enough to Kansas City and yet when we were at the resort we felt like we were hundreds of miles away from any city. The staff was very friendly & helpful. We can’t say enough about our good reunion. Basswood can count on us making this an annual event.

We had a family christmas clelbration at Basswood's lakeside lodge and it was perfect. Our family from all over the country came in and everyone loved the facilities and the staff. We found the staff to be very helpful whenever we needed them.

The facilities were very clean and the lodge over looking the lake was spectacular even in the cold weather.

We have recommended Basswod to all our family and friends that live in the local area and we will definitaly be back.

This place is a joke they lied to us about refund policy I gave them a month notice of cancellation due to a knee surgery and refused to return my money filed a BBB complaint and they refused to acknowledge it. The place its self is no good the fishing is horrid, the tent sites are really bad and the staff if very uneducated when it comes to policy and the manager is a liar and basically stole my money with no just cause!!!!
