First the good: Excellent tasting Chennai style food. Decent ambience for a HSB. Prompt and courteous service. Now the bad: For crying out loud, do they even realize that Plano IS in Texas where everything is oversized when it comes to food? We ordered Ghee Pongal for 7.50 and what we got was quantity that will fill a 5 year old, no more. Mysore Bonda at 3 for 5.99 is a bit pricey but not quite the ripoff Pongal was. Special meals at 11.99 was decent, and good portion, though I had to order an extra plate of rice to finish off all the side dishes. Again guys, do us a favor and increase the portion sizes. It is painful to see your servers apologize for the small portions. The crowd will stop when they leave your premises hungry. Coffee at 3 bucks was authentic south Indian and piping hot. Again a suggestion here... Some people may prefer to add more sugar. So would it hurt to send a packet or two of sugar along? The Ugly: $38 including tax and tips for 2 people sounds excessive. I must say there was nothing left in the plates when we were done.
My husband and I were looking to purchase our first home but we went to lender after lender and seemed to be going nowhere. They were not helpful, would take days to respond to emails or phone calls and offered no help on where we needed to be with down payment or what debts we should pay down. I am thankful that I located Drew on Zillow because, without him, I am absolutely sure we'd still be looking for a home instead of living in one. He was always available to speak with me and, the very few times he wasn't, he called me back within 30 minutes. He walked us through every step of the process and explained exactly what needed to get done for us to get approved. I followed his steps and, when we found our perfect home, he was able to make sure that we closed in under 30 days. As I mentioned, we were first time home buyers and the whole process is a bit overwhelming. I felt completely at ease with Drew and the rest of the staff at Stone Lake Mortgage. I will be recommending them to anyone who mentions they are looking at buying a home.
Growing up, Pancho's Mexican buffet was my favorite place to eat. When I was in highschool my family moved to Florida, and we only got Pancho's on vacations back to TX. Almost all of the ones near where I had grown up have closed, and the few that remain have drastically dropped in quality. So when my husband and I moved into the Plano area and found this Pancho's, I was skeptical but determined to give it a chance. I am so glad we did! The food is almost always hot, the servers are prompt with refills for drinks and food, and the taste is just as I had remembered from my childhood. I am so glad to finally be close to a Pancho's that maintains the qualities I remember!
