        Overall

        The Pinole Staples is not supportive of teachers. One cashier (Eric) tried to be helpful to myself and another teacher as we attempted to buy class sets of supplies for our students who cannot afford them by offering to ring them up as separate transactions so that we could receive the special price on more than two. However, his coworker (a rude young woman whose name I didn't catch) stepped in and stopped serving the customers in her own line to tell him not to help us while she called the manager to ask if this was store policy. A long line then formed as all customers had to wait for the manager (Luis) to come out and tell us that Staples would not allow us to make more than one purchase. I will no longer be shopping at the Pinole Staples, and I would encourage anyone who supports public school teachers to boycott that store.
