Overall

I took my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee (5.7L Hemi) in last Thursday (May 2, 2013) for my first oil change and after reviewing the invoice I discovered that Mopar Part# 68101997AA was the motor oil used for the oil change. A cross reference of this part number shows to be 5W-30 oil and not the 5W-20 oil that is recommended by Jeep for the 5.7L Hemi. When I called the dealership to ask what type of oil was used in my vehicle I was first told "the oil recommended by Jeep… 5W20" I then asedk the question why my receipt would have the part number for 5W30… At that point I was first told that "Well, it is only a line item on the receipt and that they probably hit the wrong button" I questioned it again and the Service Advisor the said that "We would have used what ever is currently our bulk oil tank…. certain times of the year it has 5W20 and other times it has 5W30" (That statement is extremely concerning to me!!! Does this dealership "mix" oil viscosity in their single bulk oil tank!!! )… The Service Advisor then asked if he could put me on hold to ask his parts person what type of oil was currently in their bulk oil tank. When he returned he stated "Ok, I spoke with the parts manager and he stated that we currently have 5W30 in our bulk oil tanks so 5W30 was the oil that was used in your vehicle" I was then told that they do have 5W20 in bottles but the customer would need to pay more if they choose to have oil put in their car from bottles. What? So a customer would need to pay more to have the CORRECT viscosity that is recommended by the manufacturer put in their vehicle? I know that this may seem like a petty concern, but please note that I was NOT told by the dealership that a different viscosity of oil was going to be used for my first oil change!!! Below is a DIRECT quote from the Owner's Manual concerning why ONLY 5W20 oil should be used in the Chrysler 5.7L Hemi engine: "NOTE: Vehicles equipped with a 5.7L engine MUST use SAE 5W-20 oil. Failure to do so may result in IMPROPER OPERATION of the Fuel Saver Technology. Refer to "Fuel Saver Technology If Equipped" in "Starting and Operating" for further information. Lubricants that do not have both, the engine oil certification mark and the correct SAE viscosity grade number should not be used. SAE 5W-20 engine oil is recommended for all operating temperatures. This engine oil improves low temperature starting and vehicle fuel economy." (Ref. P. 616, 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Owners Manual) My other concern is how many customers in the Phoenix area are taking their vehicles in for an oil change at this dealership believing that they are receiving the recommended oil for their vehicle but are in fact receiving a different oil viscosity which could be detrimental to their vehicle?

STAY AWAY FROM THE SERVICE DEP...

STAY AWAY FROM THE SERVICE DEPT!!!

Dropped my 2003 Jeep Liberty off at Powers dealership because the A/C was not blowing cold and they performed a diagnostic on it. They tell me a hose and the compressor need to be replaced for $1100.

I had the compressor replaced a year before so I questioned their diagnosis. They then told me they could get the price down to $800 using after market parts and this is when I got really suspicious. I told them I'd pick up the Jeep and take it for a second opinion.(they charged me $123 for their diagnosis)

I took it to a local mechanic(Carl's Car Care) and they said the only thing wrong with it was an AC hose. The total repair cost me $339. Now I've got Ice cold air.

Powers are crooks. Stay away!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! THEY ARE THE KINGS OF "BAIT-AND-SWITCH"!

I came to the dealership after receiving a quote on a 2011 Grand Cherokee, only to get there and find out they "quoted the wrong vehicle". Yeah, Right! I verified the price with both the salesperson and manager, and even had the quote and window sticker emailed to me. I cancelled my purchase at a competing (honest) dealer because Power's price was $900 cheaper. What a mistake! To make a long story short, they had quoted me $34,600 for the vehicle. When I showed up at the dealership with a check in hand, the price was not $34,600, but $39,500. Of course, they had "others to show me". No thanks you scumbags!

Dont get ripped off at this service center

RIP OFF SERVICE. I used to trust this service center. I bought a 2001 Dodge Dakota in CA. When I moved to Phoenix in 2002 I took it to this dealer for service and was treated well and given my money's worth whenever I needed service. But that was then and this is now. Summer of 2010 I get a check engine light, I take the truck to these guys and they give me a laundry list of services that need "Immediate Attention" Well over $2,000 worth of services including but not limited to my brakes master cylinder which was "leaking into booster" That was $500, IF I didn’t need to replace the master cylinder or the booster. I paid the $400 to correct the emissions leak(s) that caused the check engine light, but had to wait for the rest (no $). This service rep knew money was tight for me from our fist conversation, but had no trouble telling me I needed lost of expensive services on my truck. I’ve taken good care of this truck all these years, regular oil changes etc.. A friend suggested I check his regular mechanic, so I did. He tells me This Dealer never even removed the master cylinder, and could not possibly have found a leak unless he had. He also told me that half of the things they found we not necessary, and quoted prices at half the rate this dealer wanted to charge me. When I went back to speak with the General Manager, I was told he was not available, I left my name # and # and asked for a call but have not heard from any of them. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!
