Dr. Ackerman provides really good service, but I wouldn't buy a pair of eyeglasses from there. They add on all kinds of things without explaining what all the options are and what they cost. When I called first thing the next morning to cancel or revise the lens order, after my insurance company had explained what I had been charged for, I was told that the order could not be cancelled, purportedly because the lenses had already been made. The order was placed the previous afternoon, which makes me wonder why it takes a week to get the glasses back. I was also told that I had signed something that stated that I knew that the lenses could not be returned, which I had not. I was also charged more than $100 for a follow up appointment in addition to the charge for the contact lens evaluation. My insurance company said that the follow up should have been included as part of the evaluation. When I called back to ask about the charges, I was treated like I was the one with the problem. Don't let these people try to fool you. This was not just some honest legitimate misunderstanding or miscommunication about what I was being charged, but a deliberate intent on their part to use dishonest deceptive business practices in overcharging customers for things that they did not intend to purchase.
